My Botcon Gigatron is fine. No issues, but then my Bludgeon was also unaffected.

I like the thread title change overall, but since the recent discovery was DotM Shockwave's hose I don't think saying treads specifically is the best option. It probably should have the word "rubber" in it even if it's not really accurate. That's the more well known word for it over "soft plastic". Maybe "Soft Rubber Melting Plastic"? Simple and to the point, and describes all known instances of the problem.

Changed to "melted soft rubbery parts."
    That should cover it all.

So there’s no fix for this issue? I haven’t discovered any of my Transformers with this issue but I have a Darth Vader Force FX lightsaber and the black rubbery parts on the grip are melting. They are very soft and if you try to hold it, it feels really gross like you’re holding glue. Also dust is starting to stick to those parts so it looks bad as well.

Not certain if it's been brought up, so please forgive if repeating ideas already covered:

One could print replacement parts for the solid plastic (provided the dimensions of the affected parts are available), and while printing with silicone is something I know nothing of, one could print a small plastic/metal mold (metal prints are a thing but they're expensive) that they then use to cast silicone replacements for flexible parts.

That all being said, not many here have 3D printers, and even the ones who do -- while probably nice folk who would do it if they could -- might have other projects that take priority to the R&D necessary for this endeavor.

In earlier pages also TR Mindwipe had been reported at risk of melting for rubber parts,my bot at the moment is safe.Hope that at least this toy doesn't suffer this thing.

Actually, I might've been one of the first people to experience this problem, because when I had my RotF Demolishor on display, his treads ended up sticking to my wood shelf...

Sure hope this issue didn't extend to other lines. I have a lot of the DOTM run in storage.

I cant really understand the reports of Shockwave. I just bought one that has now been sealed for 8 years. No damage at all. All old figures like that ive bought sealed and anyone WITH this condition...was melted right out of the box. DOTM Shockwave. No. even ROTF Rampage. No.

None of my DOTM Shockwaves have the issue, and I have four, although one has a translucent purple hose, so that probably doesn’t count.

I wonder how some Prime/Beast Hunters PVC parts will fare over time....especially Dreadwing/Skyquake from the former and some of the beasts/beast armor from the latter.

The head on mine broke off. Glue is currently holding it together. Transformable, even. This happened before this thread existed, had no idea what had happened, now I do.

Right. i cant understand it. I've never seen this problem on this toy.
Bludgeon, Demolishor and CW Megatron are the only ones ive seen (experienced) proof of.

Hmmm, hadn’t checked CW Megs. My wife has him. So far, none of mine have had the issues. I have two Bludgeons and one Botcon Gigatron, none of which have the issue, so curious if CW megs also has been spared so far.

CE Megs is unaffected, which means none of my figures have experienced the problem so far. I’m either the luckiest person on this board, or there is something environmental at play triggering it.

I had every version of the Bludgeon mold but I sold or traded them all a few years ago. I just checked my CW Megatron & he's fine. I hope nothing happens to him, that's my favorite version of Megatron.

I'm curious, what kind of conditions are you guys storing/displaying the figures? I have central air and heating in my house, and it's generally not humid, but I still had that slight issue with Demolishor's treads.
