No gift sets have been announced (yet)
So right now each of the 8 Constructicons will need to be bought separately (with them all expected to have been released by late 2020)

On that note, I picked up Scrapmetal yesterday. So my Devastator journey has begun! I just hope they all see release here in Australia
We haven’t seen a voyager wave of Studio Series figures since Megatron and Brawl!

Thanks for the update on the giftset. Can’t say I blame them as the original movie Devastator shelf-warmed pretty bad...especially in my country.

I’m surprised that Australia hasn’t seen much released. In Singapore, Malaysia and HK these series is stocked almost everywhere.

Well, I want to be cautious because I’m the original ROTF line the individual Constructicons didn’t combine.

Understood. But the great thng is that since then a decade has lapsed and toy engeneering has improved greatly.

Distribution has been pretty bad in Australia for a while.

POTP took a while to get here
Wave 2 deluxes were virtually skipped (but recently stated showing up, long after wave 3)
    Wave 4 never came here
We got all the leaders, but Optimal Optimus was very hard to find.
We got all the voyagers prime masters and legends though.

Siege wave 1 only showed up at dedicated toy retailers, none of the main department stores got them in and started straight from wave 2 which has only just really started seeing proper distribution to all major retailers (well, most of them)

Studio series we have gotten every deluxe wave. Although wave 3 and 4 were pretty scarce. The Shatter, Cogman, Scrapmetal wave is the most recent thing we’ve seen released, at one chain of stores first. And then in the last 2 weeks or so they’ve started showing up everywhere.
Leaders we got the first wave. Guess now we will wait and see if Megatron and Jetfire ever show up
Voyagers seemed to be going well at first. We got wave 1 right away. And pretty quickly moved on to wave 2 and then... nothing... now most stores either have no voyagers or some leftover wave 2s
Makes me regret not grabbing Ironhide when I saw him while I was in the US earlier this year.

So yeah, kinda wary about my chances of buying Devy at retail. May have to grab the voyagers and leaders online if new waves don’t start showing up here soon

Having the first ROTF Devastator converting from vehicle to individual robots into large robots is really exciting.

Agreed man! I have the red-face version and I was so happy to get it. It was the largest official TF combiner? But of course, the individual limbs couldn’t transform...

Missed your post! From your experience, I’m glad I didn’t settle down in Australia...missing out on those figures would drive my insane! I mean, no Studio Series Ironhide?!

For me, I will try to at least get the core cast from the first movie and even though DOTM is my personal favourite, I’m just looking forward to Sentinel Prime and that version of Megatron.

For ROTF, I’ll try to complete Devastator and the Fallen - if he ever comes out!

Hope you get to complete Devastator man!

Haven been wondering how the designers could've pulled off Devastator's head without parts forming, and this video happened to pop up in my Youtube feed.

Watch from 50:32 for the Devs head transformation. Yes it's Lego and yes none of the components here has individual 'bot mode. But I thought it's a really cool design and it's certainly one way to incorporate Dev's head in Mixmaster, and maybe also have these bits to form part of Mixmaster's lower body/legs.

    Time will tell. :)

    So about that Leader Scavenger:

I did a random search just to see what it's bot mode could be, and found Demolishor:
    ROTF_Wheelbot_concept_art.jpg

It never occurred to me that Demolishor was in Devastator since he was executed way in the beginning of the movie, but hey...

Do you think Scavenger will have this bot mode? I tried to look for clues in the combined mode pic, but couldn't see any big ass wheels sticking out...

That’s the same robot mode as the combining ‘09 legends class figure used so I imagine so

Yes. Like it or not(I like it) this Devy is double homaging both the combined mode and the individual bots. Case in point are scrapmetal and red rampage(who should be yellow for true combiner)

Honestly bayverse Devy is so strange being that there are individual constructicons, and then their doubles for Devy. Some are the exact same, some opposite colored, some completely different. I wont blame hasbro for any color mixups, honestly. Personally I think Long Haul and Mixmaster are the best individual bots. I remember that voyager Demolishor for ROTF. It was technically accurate, but boy was that a.... different transformer. I understand why it wasnt a leader class back then. I would NOT have bought that at 40 bucks.

In regards to the copied constructicons, the idea that hasbro has mentioned is that the more sets of them there are the bigger Devastator can become, which is a pretty neat concept even if it was never actually shown

Eh, I'd think thats just Hasbro giving a reason for it, because that movie was a mess. Cool idea though. Cant see that ever translating to a toy though.

And later Dragonstorm in The Last Knight also seems to be able to be formed by any number of Knights. It's cool that combination in that universe has it's own flavor, and I can imagine Infernocus and the Arcee sisters work similarly.

You've never heard of scramble city? Combiners switching around is a concept as old as combiners themselves. Only Devastator in G1 couldn't swap around ironically. But yeah, even if it's just a behind the scenes thing or something made up by hasbro I like it as an explanation because it's a cool idea and it explains away the craziness and thoughtlessness behind a lot of the later scenes in rotf.

Scavenger and Demolishor have the same robot modes but with different pain schemes...I thought this was common knowledge.
