As soon as the rumour of SOC Dairugger hit I sold off my MM version. I had no overall issues with it, but it left a lot to be desired, including frustrating joint connection and waaaaay too much diecast used.
I saw mention of a June 3 PO date for this guy in the Macross thread, but I can't find any corroborating evidence anywhere.
These shots have finally sold me on Dairugger. I think Bandai tweaked the proportions between the colored prototype and the unpainted one. The thighs are closer to the crotch, the calves look slimmer The head sculpt looks perfectly sized and sculpted now. I also like the inclusion of some smaller helicopter blades for the shoulders. I'm also glad it comes with cooler/ slimmer looking hands and forearms. If Bandai can get those knees to be double jointed that will also be very much appreciated.
Nuthin' so far. I did some googling earlier today and came up empty. I expect we'll hear something...hopefully...before it's too late. And who knows, maybe this figure won't sell out instantly like Lion Voltron. VV is kind of like the creepy uncle Voltron the kids don't talk about much.
I WILL own this! I have always loved VV more than Lion Voltron. Sacrilege, I know.. I love vehicles that turn into (or combine to form) robots more than animals that do.
