You and me both. I'm practically craving them at this point. I just hope the QC is good because Zeta's QC on their Zeta-EX stuff has been questionable (and that's compared to the ToyWorld versions, so that's not exactly a good thing).

Clear windows, for starters. It's also not the most accurate (though I suppose that's debatable).
The main thing is just that there is a lot of competition, and for my money, I think the XTB and ACE versions are more appealing (and since ACE is likely dead, it's pretty obvious which one of the two I'll end up buying).

This is exactly how I feel in regards to the problems with this figure. I still like this little guy but I don't really feel the need to own yet another Seaspray (I've got enough), so XTB is the one I'll be going for, unless it turns out horribly.

I'm definitely curious about that head. Zeta didn't release it with their Arcee reissue, as far as I'm aware, and Arcee was a very last-minute thing for ToyWorld, so I'm wondering if Zeta even has that mould for the second head. I hope so because it would be nice to have it included.

 

Also this guy doesn’t have a waist swivel or rather it doesn’t work well. However XTB will have that and probably an ab crunch.

I feel all the 3P MP Seasprays are essentially compromises of one kind or another. I missed the TW version of this guy, but this one doesn't provoke regret. I wish the arm pontoon guns didn't make him look like he has two arm mounted underslung squirt bottles.

 

A repost, but if I can do a simple mod like this, then anyone can do it. Even better I guess. This guy is so worth it!

 

Did you paint the face yourself? It looks good. What paint did you use?

 

Just black acrylic paint. I didn't want to screw the face up, so I chose a removeable color. Turned out pretty clean and since that part is well hidden and nothing will scratch, I've just kept him this way. Next to Powerglide and Cosmos he's now my favourite S2 Autobot MP.

 

Ohhh, I was looking at the yellow. I'm guessing you got the head that already had the yellow mouth. I really wish the Zeta version had that head.

Front page is a little vague. Zeta releases are usually pretty quick but not this quick?
Seeing around US$30-35 on TauBao so I figure why not?

 

I just learned this dude existed yesterday after a friend pointed out Seaspray is the only Minibot I'm missing from my MP shelves and I'm thinking I might go for it. The metallic sheen on the blue parts reminds me a little of the weird vacuum-metal parts on his G2 toy, so he'll fit in pretty well next to my G2 Arkose. (Also I can't be disappointed at all at his price.)

He is cheap, so it isn’t a great loss, but he’s the first bot that I don’t care for almost straight out of the box.. he just doesn’t look the part of Seaspray and doesn’t fit in a Masterpiece collection, at least to me..

Beyond that, he is well-made and sturdy and what not, just not the right look and feel.

 

It's just paint on a yellow head. TW Arcee came with a straight up plain yellow head that needed to have you paint the eyes black / gunmetal. I got the original with the white and let me tell ya, that's some SERIOUS white paint. Nothing took it off till I took the head off, removed the eyes and soaked the thing in DoT3 brake fluid (yes, the car stuff). DoT 3 removed it (don't use DoT 4, it's more caustic to the plastics) and let me do what King Nergil did but it took 8 hours of soaking and a light scrub with a paint brush after.
