I've been watching this series for a year... and I'm hooked. The animation is great, the story telling is awesome, and I love the characters.

    Anyone else a fan?

Oh HELL yeah. One of my favourite western cartoons, right up there with Beast Wars. Gonna check the new episodes tomorrow; had to scurry around a bit to find new links to them since Avatar Portal seems to have run into some trouble.

I've seen up to episode 9 of the new season (gotta love UK shares)

Episode 8 was insane... creepy too. Water bending + science = scary as all hell.

there are DVDs... individual and boxed sets.

I REALLY need to pick them up and show my support for this series by throwing my money at it!

Yup, the first two seasons are available on DVD. The second box set is actually a fairly new release (I picked it up in its first week out).

Avatar is just plain damn great.
After watching an episode I end up asking myself: "How could they come up with that! It's so brilliant!"

I read somewhere that M. Night Shyamalam is gonna turn the series into a trilogy of films, also that Dakota Fanning could be Toph.

The first part is certainly true but I haven't heard anything about the Fanning connection.

The good news about M Night Shyamalam directing the Avatar movie is that he will be working closely with the series creator.

By the way, anyone know if this season is the last, or has season 4 been confirmed?

this is the last season. It's the story of Aang, so each book has been an Element he doesn't know: Book 1 - Water; Book 2 - Earth; and Book 3 - Fire.

The series is again, amazing. It's exciting, funny, and now down right creepy (blood bending still scares the crap out of me). I think the next ep is the last for a couple months, then they'll air the final 10. I'm giddy.

Are you sure? The last I heard they were scheduled for 5 seasons, one for each of the elements and then one last one.

    Avatar is awesome.

I think it's the best animated show since Batman: The Animated Series.
