Yeah, the midsection looks better.

 

I just noticed that it looks like you have to take the propellers off to achieve certain poses with the arms. It's too bad the propellers aren't articulated so they could tilt outward, and allow for some of the poses without taking them off.

 

I think the arms are still too long but I'm still getting it.

 

I love the knees.

Where do we think the best place will be to preorder GX-88 from (US or Japan), based on the GoLion preorder (taking into account shipping)? I'm assuming NY will have the best initial price, although the shipping on this could be high if the box is large. Any thoughts?

 

I will order from ToyDojo. After shipping and everything else it will be almost the same price with free shipping from TD and significantly less stress.

Looks fantastic! And yes, looks much better than the previous gray proto. I'm assuming that was just a basic, proof of concept type of thing.

The one thing that stands out to me however, is the forearms. It looks like they only attach cockpit up/ wheels straight down, and rely on the fists to rotate. Instead of attaching sideways, allowing the fists to stay aligned with the forearm. Not a deal breaker in the least bit, of course.

It's actually more for show accuracy. The helicopter blades disappear when he's in robot mode in the anime.

 

Ah, I'm so used to seeing or remembering it as a toy I forgot that they disappear in the cartoon. That solved that nitpick. lol

 

This looks really good. I'm already hearing the opening in my head.

 

Hoping the elbow/knee range of of motion we've seen in those recent scans is the farthest that the elbows and knees can bend. I'd hate for this to pose no better than SOC God Mars when this toy is a lot newer. Ideally more than 90 degree bend and yes I'm well aware that outside of SOC FA and SRC, that isn't the norm.

 

Well he is already a lot better that God Mars.



I do think you might run into some clearance issue with the Subs BUT on the other hand check out that hidden cover coming down from the rear of the Sub on the right knee. That is some attention to detail.

 

Wasn't too keen on GoLion but Dairugger looks fun. When I was a kid, I thought it was silly it had fifteen smaller vehicles; the structural integrity of the robot would be compromised! I still think GoLion made more sense, but they're both super robot mecha anyways, so I guess it doesn't matter lolz.
