Definate buy for me. And I would be ok if they removed the metallic finish as others have stated.

 

I did my own quick adjustments. If the green was closer to this, then I'd probably pull the trigger...

 

Needs a more orangey torso than yellowy too.

 

Oh for sure - I was just focusing on trying to de-lime the green in that one.

Yeah the metallic paint across the board on this round of reveals is a real head scratcher. Makes absolutely no sense.

With a flat darker green and orangey torso this'd look incredible. They got the proportions near perfect.

 

it's bizarre   would look amazing with a flat green and with the torso colour changed   same for warpath it would look much better with a flat colour ... both of these are the 2 i'm most looking forward to really hope they don't fuck up with the colours

 

the paint is bad enough for me to lean pass...especially with reissue/repaint always a possibility down the road

 

Looking at the pics again and this one jumps out at me because of MP10:



It kinda looks metallicy too and we all know he ain't. Maybe it's bright lighting mixed with a filter making it look off? Would make more sense looking at this shot then Fanstoys doing a 180 and deciding to make their new figures not mix with anything released yet.

They just need to change the shades if that's the case.

 

I would buy DW Brawn in a hot minute.   

 

Therein lies the rub. Is a later release in more toon accurate (i.e., darker and less shine) colors planned? My finger in the wind analysis is most companies don't plan their colors this way. New colors generally sync with a G2 or exclusive version, but we don't typically (except for maybe Takara) get a more toon accurate color scheme later on from 3P. The market for that has to be slim and FT knows it. My guess is they are releasing this color scheme and level of shine because it seems more premium to them.

I'd wager based on fan feedback the green for Brawn will darken and the shine/sheen across the board may change, but that's just a guess. FT has a history of pivoting quickly based on feedback to make an item more saleable and since the level of shine and colors are fairly easy to adjust this late in the game, they could do it. Either way I'm likely buying Brawn, Skydive and Warpath regardless.

I really like the Warpath, however I feel his forearms are off. That's not exactly fair considering how hard it is to achieve what they do with these figures.

The Brawn bot mode looks great.

I concur, with questions over the metallic paint.

 

But I thought the white forearms were toon accurate...?

 

I like him a lot overall. Colors could use some tweaking. I never mind some shine though. These are metal robots and it looks good.

 

A nice dark matte Forrest Green would be ideal.

 

Ha, yeah, I didn't even notice the forearm colors in those screen grabs 'cause I don't really care what color they end up being, though I would personally prefer a silver or gray. I was mostly looking at the green. I don't even care if the green ends up being more of the standard forest green, I was just making the observation that the green they chose wasn't unprecedented and that I would (mostly) be okay with the color selection as is.

 

Will be purchasing because I think the lighting is a little harsh and he'll end up being slightly darker. Slightly. Just barely.

 

He is a definite purchase for me. I'm glad I don't have to track down a reasonably priced Brawny (I like Hunk's proportions better, anyway) and the color will grow on me. I'm starting to get more shiny bots and I don't hate 'em. The color, though, I'm going to have to get used to that. As long as I don't look at any side-by-sides, I should be fine.

 

I just pre-ordered mine. I kind of like the metallic paint.
