@Skjalddis, sorry to hear you've been having trouble, I hope things pick up for you very soon. A decent new Optimus is always a good place to start! ;)

@Soundwavelover2004 you have a great day too!

Yeah I don't trust myself and my tiny stubby digits either! A housemate of mine back in the day had contacts and worked as an electrician on building sites, and he kept getting eye infections because the dirt and dust kept getting trapped under his contacts. Although I suspect the filthy bastard just wasn't cleaning them often enough, it kind of put me off them even more.

It really, really isn't! But.... cool toys!

Nice! I'm still holding out for Kapow. I did mean to contact them and ask to split the order with the Micromasters, but I'm a lazy bastard.

*shudders* ugh revision. I do not miss it or exams! 12 years clear of Uni and I still get the odd nightmare about exams. Good luck with the revision dude!

Well I suppose this is what the Universe does with its Irony Overstocks sometimes. I buy a Movie Optimus, go on a tear about Movie aesthetics and not even 24 hours later I'm having Brunch (Oooohh, fancy!) with an Old Friend from my ex-workplace who decides to gift me this oddball "because you'll hate it,"

    image.jpeg

    Yeah, hilarious.

Well jokes on you Anton Old Bean, I don't hate it at all. It's just......not great. It's an olive-drab Minibot. Meh.

Tiny, Fiddly, not that well articulated and DAT FACE.........what World do we live in where that's the kid appeal character? But it's not particularly hateful or offensive. Just dull.

Anyway until somebody(anyone?) else wants to claim it I now have five Movie figs.

    Whoah.

I imagine this doesn't help your wallet ;)  Reprolabels added.

    Siege Sideswipe.jpg

I was waiting and waited as long as I could. But the little bastards were holding up 5 other Siege figures!
Kapow won't split orders or other invoice hassle but they did allow me to cancel and refund the Battle Masters and then they shipped the rest.
I've since spent the money with them again and more so no harm done.

Fricking 2nd Yodel package is not at depot it's gone back to a Sort Centre!! I swear if it's not here by Friday I will be...miffed!
(i know you all don't want to hear about this everyday lol)

    x10. Worth it, mind!

I'd be all over that. I fucking LOVED those Zoids comics when I was a nipper. Spider-man and the Zoids was a fucking awesome comic. I vividly remember those issues with the Puma, the Vulture ganga, and that fight with the symbiote suit.

    And you, m'man!

Ah yes, the enabling. it is something of a feature of this here thread.

@bcm77 I was too wrapped up in my low key diabetes angst yesterday to say 'nice work' on getting on top of the sugar/fizzy drink addiction. No small effort, he said from experience!

Anyone else ever watch the old web series, Yacht Rock? I rewatched it at the weekend and since then I've not been able to listen to anything other than Hall & Oates, Michael Mcdonald, Kenny Loggins, Toto, and The Doobie Brothers (with related sideways diversions onto Van Halen and Warren G). It's that smooth, smooth sound!

Behold! The Siege addendum to my original Starscream ramble from 2018

So, just want start off by saying, hey Hasbro! Thanks for reading all my posts and answering my prayers.

So yes, with PotP Starscream I was happy to have a Voyager 'Screamer, but wished it wasn't such a complete disaster. And maybe it's just that my expectations have been lowered so much by what's come before, but I think this new take is magnificent.

This is the most G1 character model looking Seeker I've seen this side of the MP line, if not 'ever', and I am totally loving him. Ok, he's got plenty of flaws; I could live without the Mp style 'heels', his legs are a little long to his torso, and his wings look a little unfinished. But the rest of it is spot on. The bring orange cockpit chest, the nipple rotors, the shoulder vents (I LOVE how these become the nose of the tetrajet), and decently sized null ray cannon THANK GOD! the fact you can use the cannons as hand held rifles without it looking like crap is really quite wonderful. I don't even mind the excessive greebling.

And, like the rest of his Siege peers, he is bursting with articulation and poseability. I'm particularly smitten with how poseable his arms are, with multiple joints giving you all the cannon posing options you might need.

So let's all be straight with each other; any attempt to do the 'Tetrajet' is going to be controversial. Basing it too closely on what we saw in the cartoon is as doomed a prospect as trying to come up with a totally new idea of what Cybertronian fighter jet might look like.

So with that in mind, a riff on the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper isn't a bad idea at all. It's a pretty sweet mid way point, or the least worst of both worlds.

It's just a pity that there's no way of ignoring his knees.

Now, I actually don't think this is too bad compared to many other jetformers. I was ok with CW Silverbolt and I'm ok with this. But with that noted, I can't help but with there was just another little something that made that integrate with the upper shell that little bit better.

Yes, I said shell. This is a total shellformer. So much so that people have been detaching the jet from the robot to really emphasize the point. It's a damn handsome looking shell, in my own opinion, but there's no denying it's a complete shell. There's a whole other debate on if and why a shellformer is an intrinsically bad thing (a debate I'm feeling that I'm about to be dragged into) but I think it's hard to feel there hasn't been a significant compromise when we find ourselves with a shellformer.

But sticky out knees aside, I really do like this alt mode. There's a very basic rule of thumb I have about alt modes, and that is 'if I enjoying making it go zoooooooom then it's cool'. And I enjoy making this go zoom very much. It looks cool and there's plenty of lovely detail (the rear tri-thruster being a personal favourite). The cockpit could do with a little more depth before it hits the grey plastic, but that feels like a trivial complaint. In summary, I like it!

I like it so much that I'm going to be happy to buy it at least another five times (come on Coneheads!)

Ooh-er, I might just stick then, it's only the rifle I need really.
'Screamer's shellformeriness does make me suspect that it's just slimly possible we might be getting a preview of Earth mode Seekers 3.0 and there's an alternate F-16 shell/components CAD file on the Hasbro harddrive, maaaaybe.

A little overcooked because someone forgot that the dyed object sometimes gets more intense during the cooling process but it bodes well for similar treatment on Red Heat and that chocolate still looks a TON better than the rubbish alt-mode-undermining grey!

If that word is in the conversation my advice would be "Don't panic" and "moderation is your friend".

For the first 6 months after being diagnosed I went cold turkey on anything resembling junk which did me some good but the cravings didn't go away and I gradually got a handle on how much sugary stuff I could have without overdoing it.

Assuming they don't call to reschedule the appointment for the 3rd time I have the follow up appointment from my last diabetic review this Friday so I'll see how that goes. I know from the blood test results my blood sugar control has dipped a bit which seems odd because I've made more effort to change my diet for the better this year so I'm not too concerned about being able to sort it.

My blood pressure is also up a bit which is harder to fix but I've lost a bit of weight so it's not all been bad news.

    @MyTea Boc,
Bowel movements, toy robots, other pop culture discussion, this thread has it all! :D

Laser eye surgery = I'll have the version that allows me to zap people like Cyclops as it'd come in handy for getting cellphone zombies out of my path in supermarkets.

My daughter has not stopped poring over her toy store catalog recently, so I showed her a G1 toy catalog & tech spec decoder for the first time yesterday, telling her these caught my imagination similarly when I was young. She found the decoder “so cool”. It was just magical to see and share that, 30 years after the fact and with all the new fangled toys and tech kids are exposed to, that a tech spec decoder still sticks the landing.

Thanks for this Brendan. I've been quietly disasterising this, so to hear a voice of experience is really fucking helpful and genuinely reassuring. I've been doing good things like, substituting 'bad' junky sugars for more wholesome ones, so I am doing stuff, but I still definitely turn to a quick and dirty fix when my stress levels are up. Keep on trucking, I guess?

I always loved those things. I remember spending hours playing with the decoders, even trying to make a visor out of them (I might have just discovered my first X-Men comic around that time). Top class cheap fun!

    Christ, hope it's all ok!

Wow that's gotta be a worrying thing. Stay safe.

So they have arrived. At least Yodel got this part right lol BUT...
Amazon USA suck on there end. These came in a jiffy bag! Geeze.
The packets have been squashed and even cracked on one corner.
I don't care about the boxes and luckily the items are fine but I do want my goods to arrive in proper condition.

Battle Masters Wave 2.jpg Battle Masters2.jpg

They are actually very nice and now Misfire will be properly armed. Bit loose on the limbs though. Not sure what I will do with the Axe one.
