Perhaps someone should start a petition to ban internet petitions?

That should have happened when people petitioned the Government to create a fully functional Death Star some years back.

That Starbucks cup is a FAR better actor with more presence and charisma.

I can't wait for the fan fiction on youtube that will tell us how GoT should have ended. Should be entertaining.

Yeah I get that. Doesn’t change how I feel about the Council.

I don't get the point in the petition when we already have another go-around at the finale coming in the books?

It’s utterly pointless and will never happen. I just hope Disney wakes the fuck up and realizes these assholes couldn’t write a McDonalds commercial without GRRM. The last thing SW needs is more negative controversy and these two clowns are partially....

The only lesson I take from what’s being said here is that it’s a bad idea to adapt a story that is still ongoing.

I'm kinda reminded of a similar situation with Full Metal Alchemist and how when they made the first animated series, the show inevitably surpassed the manga (which was still ongoing at the time) and then started to go off on its own direction with an ending that was vastly different from how the manga actually ended. Then they made FMA: Brotherhood, with the second animated series following the manga much more closely with the "true" ending.

I doubt they'll ever do something similar with GOT. But who knows if they won't take another stab at the show (pun intended :D ) 20 years from now and remake it so it follows the books more closely?

Lol, I had to click on two links (one clickbait to another) to get to the actual source article in which Turner is answering a direct question in a phone interview while doing press in Berlin for Xmen. The question is one of many regarding the GoT season. It is not like she posted this word for word via social media attacking trolls.

Not saying anyone is wrong to hate the finale just thought it was a good example of bad journalism these days.

    You just got Los-SLAMMED trolls!

I personally think they should have slightly changed the season structure for season 8 as they normally do an epic action-packed penultimate episode and then do a relatively slow final episode that is winding down and placing the action events into context. This approach normally works as we can forgive the final episode for being a bit underwhelming as it is setting things up for the next season but when there isn’t another season it falls a little flat.

Personally I would have kept the tension of whether John was going to kill her or not into much later in the episode.

I would have added a scene after Bran was asking about Drogon when some disgruntled and entitled high-born who hated this new voting system and wanted a return to the old brutal ways of a king being birthright or taken by force was confronting the new king threatening to take Brans head and rather than respond to his threats Bran simply rolled back his eyes like he does when he is controlling an animal or person and Drogon emerges to Brans aid and they all drop their swords and bend their knees and Bran delivers the closing line “if you wish to rule you must you must win a vote and serve the people”

I would also have added a scene close to the very end after John was the new leader of the nights watch when the camera raced ahead of John and his militia of convicts to a mysterious place miles north of the wall where it revealed a group of Baby white walkers who was Crasters sons. I think the sinister imagery of a bunch of Zombie babies standing in the shape of that weird symbol would be nice WTF moment to close things off.

At least the penultimate action episode this season was one the best they have ever done subverting epic action and heroic cliches creating something truly memorable, horrific and upsetting.

I was hoping both Jon and Daenarys will be a couple and rule together. I was shocked when he killed her.

I really wish people would stop referring to the writers as D&D. That abrreviation always meant Dungeons and Dragons, and always will. I mean, Orci and Kutzmann were just as much hated by fans for messing up Transformers, the Mummy, Star Trek, but I never seen them called O&K...
Lol that is a good one. What was the explanation anyway? He smelled that Jon was a Targeryen too, so did not kill him, but... He did not want him to become king? Until now the dragons were not shown to be as intelligent as to grasp such concepts.
I admit the election of the king was a sad affair. Who the hell was even the guy Sansa called uncle who nominated himself? If I seen him before it must have been seasons ago or he just left no inpression. Though I guess really, all the power-hungry candidates died - so Bran elected without much argument was ok. Him not starting a new dynasty and kings being elected in the future made sense.
Not sure about Jon's banishment. The Unsullied left for Naath right away, so why not just pretend it then call him back? And with no more White Walkers, what use is there for a Night Watch? Then again, that was probably the last place he felt happy, among the wildlings. And he got reunited with his wolf too!

Unless Martin lives to what, 120 years old, chances of that are low. One book he likely almost finished and will release, but any more? Likely it would be like withTerry Pratchett, and he would select asuccessor to write the rest. Just hope it will be better than the Foundation (Asimov) or Dune books written in similar ways after the original creator passed away

Adam Driver beat him to the whole "brooding dark dreamy guy" role that he mostly plays. ;)

The whole celibacy, only being around other dudes and freezing f*cking cold makes the Night's Watch a fate worse than death for me.

I'd run straight to Winterfell so someone could chop off my head.

Are you kidding? He is the one person who came out of this conflict richer than everyone. He is the most practical and efficient person about finances who invested in both sides and made a profit where even the Golden Company lost.

Except that all comes from the books, y'know. The direwolves stopped being relevant after the first one. They were a symbol of a house and their fates sort if reflects that person's attachment to those houses. And there were plenty other plots that end just as abruptly and go nowhere in the book - like that one reasonable Lannister guy who tries to be a good regent for Tommen and make peace with the factions Geoffrey upset, and then Varys just murders him and that never amounts to anything.
