Those look good and are probably what I had seen. I really don't care about boombox mode, Lampost mode is good enough for me, but I do really want Forearm panels. Why this doesn't seem to have been done for the likes of Sideswipe and Megatron is a mystery to me. Flywheels looks fine as is though. I PM'ed @ultraman zoffy to see about ordering his design.

I don't like any of it to be honest.... I guess I just like my figures pristine. Honestly, I tried to like it, but I just can't What really bothers me is when the battle damage is painted over painted parts, where basically I have to strip the decorative paints to get rid of that battle damage paint, like with Starscream and Soundwave. I haven't gotten around to do them yet, but trust me, I will. I am particularly worried about Springer. If all that damage is on top of painted yellow parts, it is going to be a major PITA for me to color match. I am not a skilled customizer, I have only done touch ups or small figures. Frankly I suck at it too. Trying to paint match major parts of the figure is a nightmare to me. Especially considering these are basically definitive versions of these characters for me.

I'm right there with you, buddy, holding out for Soundblaster.

Unless he comes out before the end of May, I think I'm gonna have a whole box of accessories (gap fillers and the like) to add to the figure, but no figure.

I just had a small realisation if a giftset of Refraktor was made in G1 toy colours then each individual robot would somewhat complement the colours of Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker as if they were some sort of partner to them.

Totally! I always have it in my head that it's a Furman line...but it isn't. 'Crisis of Command' was such a good story.

Hard agree on nearly everything you've written here (I'm still in for Chromia, even though Hasbro Uk not getting her is holding up my wave 2 deluxe order and I'm skipping Jetfire becuase he's actually too tall for my collection), particularly Shockwave being tops, Springer being a challenger to the T:30 king, dissappointment with the Micromasters, and your thoughts about the next line/chapter.

I would LOVE to see a new Galvatron and Rodimus done with the same care and attention the rest of the Siege figures have got and I couldn't agree more about the precedent that Shockwave, with his power up armour, could be the way to give us the perfect Rodimus.

I'm hoping on a Starscream that's more white instead of grey...and maybe with a neck. I don't know if they can remold him to have a proper neck, but it would make him 10x better.

Paperclips to the rescue! Those fucking panels would not stay on so I took care of the problem.

I am sooo excited about Springer. He's the toy I have the most fond memories of owning as a child and I'm really looking forward to owning a good toy of him.

That’s a genius idea on how to use Lionizer’s effect parts for weapons without those ports! Amazing pics as always!

My slightly-revised version of "lamppost" mode:

Uh, oh! He's gonna get away!

This is a pretty decent Soundwave, but I dunno if I want to buy a Soundblaster version of this mold, even if it can hold two minions in the chest at once.

I have missed out on the part about having room for two cassettes, how was that confirmed? As far as I know we've only seen one image of this new soundblaster.

Not 100% confirmed, as nobody has one in hand yet, however the photo clearly shows a newly tooled cassette door which sticks out from the chest instead of sitting flush.

The only reason to modify the chest the way they have is to increase the chest cavity.

Behold! The Siege addendum to my original Starscream ramble from 2018

So, just want start off by saying, hey Hasbro! Thanks for reading all my posts and answering my prayers.

So yes, with PotP Starscream I was happy to have a Voyager 'Screamer, but wished it wasn't such a complete disaster. And maybe it's just that my expectations have been lowered so much by what's come before, but I think this new take is magnificent.

This is the most G1 character model looking Seeker I've seen this side of the MP line, if not 'ever', and I am totally loving him. Ok, he's got plenty of flaws; I could live without the Mp style 'heels', his legs are a little long to his torso, and his wings look a little unfinished. But the rest of it is spot on. The bring orange cockpit chest, the nipple rotors, the shoulder vents (I LOVE how these become the nose of the tetrajet), and decently sized null ray cannon THANK GOD! the fact you can use the cannons as hand held rifles without it looking like crap is really quite wonderful. I don't even mind the excessive greebling.

And, like the rest of his Siege peers, he is bursting with articulation and poseability. I'm particularly smitten with how poseable his arms are, with multiple joints giving you all the cannon posing options you might need.

So let's all be straight with each other; any attempt to do the 'Tetrajet' is going to be controversial. Basing it too closely on what we saw in the cartoon is as doomed a prospect as trying to come up with a totally new idea of what Cybertronian fighter jet might look like.

So with that in mind, a riff on the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper isn't a bad idea at all. It's a pretty sweet mid way point, or the least worst of both worlds.

It's just a pity that there's no way of ignoring his knees.

Now, I actually don't think this is too bad compared to many other jetformers. I was ok with CW Silverbolt and I'm ok with this. But with that noted, I can't help but with there was just another little something that made that integrate with the upper shell that little bit better.

Yes, I said shell. This is a total shellformer. So much so that people have been detaching the jet from the robot to really emphasize the point. It's a damn handsome looking shell, in my own opinion, but there's no denying it's a complete shell. There's a whole other debate on if and why a shellformer is an intrinsically bad thing (a debate I'm feeling that I'm about to be dragged into) but I think it's hard to feel there hasn't been a significant compromise when we find ourselves with a shellformer.

But sticky out knees aside, I really do like this alt mode. There's a very basic rule of thumb I have about alt modes, and that is 'if I enjoying making it go zoooooooom then it's cool'. And I enjoy making this go zoom very much. It looks cool and there's plenty of lovely detail (the rear tri-thruster being a personal favourite). The cockpit could do with a little more depth before it hits the grey plastic, but that feels like a trivial complaint. In summary, I like it!

I like it so much that I'm going to be happy to buy it at least another five times (come on Coneheads!)

Man, the potp starscream looks like it was made in the mid 90s compared to the siege starscream, thats what a modern transformers figure should look like with no cheap stickers that are never properly applied.
