Just curious for those with floppy ratchets, how often does this happen?

I'm planning to have a friend to bring back an entire box of this set from China, but it looks like floppy ratchets at critical joints may be a common problem?

I bought the Jinbao Gravity Builder from Aliexpress, and aside from Mixmaster and scrapper's leg ratchet being bit floppy, the combined devastator knee and hip ratchets are super tight, so the combined mode had no issue what so ever. Was expecting the same kind of quality from their Bruticus as well, but it looks like it could be a luck of the draw?

Also, what kind of ratchet does it use? spring type or plastic type? Has anyone ever managed to repair one without just replacing the whole part?

His hip joints are just too weak for the massive upper body so you have to have him perfectly balanced in any pose to stay standing. Mine never falls over, but only because I do not walk away until I find that perfect balance.

Is your friend going to ship the set back to you? The set is HUGE and no way it's going on a plane unless it's checked as luggage.

Is this a design issue or a quality control issue? Anyone figured out how to tighten it maybe?

Typical international flights from Canada to China has two free checked luggage, So shouldn't be a problem.

No, the only way to get this set is to purchase the STL files from the designer Reza Aulia on the Cults print file website, and print them out yourself (or hire someone to do it). It's a massive print to do, requiring almost 48 total hours if I recall at high resolution.
The parts I actually did design myself and do sell are a joint adapter to allow the Unique Toys arm bots on the Jinbao torso, and the knee extensions to make him taller.

 

probably just got a bad lot. mine came with one bad hip, but i got a replacement from the seller. its been rock solid ever since. i have him free standing on a top shelf, if he wasnt stable, no way would i put it up there.

sweet.. what did you do to get the UT vortex to plug in

 

I made a male to male adapter piece that plugs into the UT Vortex port on one side and and then plugs into the Jinbao port on the other.

 

I keep meaning to get this set to go with my other jinbao will need a new shelf to put them on though, don't think there is room next to these two lol

I considered it, but the Jinbao Blast Off doesn't bother me as much as their Vortex did. As a limb, the Jinbao Vortex just looked too far off from the G1 vibe for me.

Another question for those who have the set.

The partsforming components, ie, the pants, feet, hands etc, how well do they integrate in individual bot and vehicle mode? The pants I see can form into a trailer, but what about the rest? Do they turn into weapons or something in none combine bot mode?

They should be when its not holidays. I got mine about 2 weeks after ordering. Though take into account that wherever its from if customs holds it, who knows when its getting there. But generally, it should be 2 weeks.
