Like a few others mentioned, I do hope they change the gold paint on the face to an orange metallic, otherwise it looks great. If the color isn't changed, Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange Arcylic paint should do the trick.

 

So Skydive gets his shiny metallic face, but Silverbolt doesn't get his gold chrome? Bummer.

 

I don't think FT have a prerogative on their application of shiny. It doesn't gel with the toon aesthetic and is unnecessary for the Hasui-era MP's (how many shiny real-world fighter jets are there?). Looks cool though, at least for the Aerialbots. Warpath and Brawn not so much, in fact, they're probably THE last characters you'd expect a shiny paint-job for.

 

From the looks of it the FT version's been given too much abdomen in comparison with the animation model, there is a considerable gap between the two red bits on his chest and his crotch in the FT version compared to the animation model making the FT version look a bit elongated and having less of a dumpy look than the animation model!

 

I’m super happy with my Zeta Superion. TW Devy is cool and all but defintely feels off when compared to other MP.
Zeta did an okay job with parts of Bruticus but overall it’s a little lacking. I ended up
mixing and matching Zeta and UT and using 3D printed parts to combine and its looks great.
But Superion is the best of the bunch for me when it comes to combined mode. They did a great job with him.
Still getting FT for Bot modes though.

The limb bots have to form the arms of Superion, that's the reason why they are "so big".

 

They are also planes so in theory they should be the same size as seekers in both modes more or less. It would be very strange if the F-15 Aerialbot was much smaller than the F-15 Seekers. My opinion of course. The seekers are actually too small in alt mode as it is to be in scale with the car bots. But compromises have to be made for bot mode scale.

 

I agree with you completely. I’m a Takara fan and I haven’t bought any third party figures in a long time because I love the current Takara direction. I was just surprised about the reaction to this figure in this thread because my impression is that most Fans Toys fans prefer the metallic paint and chrome. I love my Fans Toys Dinobots but if Takara did them with yellow paint instead of chrome I would most likely switch.

I also noticed the same reaction in the FT Warpath thread so I guess FT have gone too far with the bling. I suspect that like Motormaster these figures will not be exactly like the pictures in hand.

 

It's an improvement but it also looks to be an expansion joint that can collapse if you want to relive your dumpy animation model dreams.  

 

So all of the aerialbots and superion are going to have this metallic sheen i guess?

 

Enjoy my zeta superion but will get this one as well. Can never have too many combiners 

 

Thats the truth, will use the Zeta version for combiner display and the FT for robot display. The robot modes on FT look really good!

 

I hope the lighten the tint on Goose/Skidive's cockpit window just a bit. I'd like it to be able to see through it into the cockpit details area.

 

I just hope it’s not simply painted on. Can’t really tell...
