Think about it... you love this movie, toys video game, or tv show when you were much younger. It's impressive and you feel complete.
Years later... you look back at it. It wasn't as good as you remembered, compared to modern day standards.
Why is that? Was it the animation? Voice work? Something else?
But sometimes in the world of media things are lucky enough to be rebuilt from the ground up. This practice is more common in video games. Take for example... Conker: Live and Reloaded. The original N64 game looks great, some parts not so much. The Xbox version gets a huge graphical overall, and the multiplayer was completely rebuilt.
We don't see this practice much in movies and tv shows, but we "might" see it.

Transformers could benefit from this. In my opinion if any Transformers show could be remastered, it's Beast Wars. The CGI is outdated, I think if the people behind Prime reanimated the show it be a major improvement. Also remaster the dialogue, bring back the OG actors!

I was reading and waiting to write just that.
Beast Wars with better animation and a few minor tweaks perhaps would be a hit show.

I'd leave everything as is. George Lucas had some great stuff to say about preservation of art until he went back and did the Special Editions.

Beast Wars is definitely something I'd like to see remastered in terms of animation. Keep everything else the same, just update the animation.

It would be really nice to edit/re-cut the Bayverse to make more sense (aka give it actual story), and fix all the CG to actually look like Transformers. Honestly, it's not outside the realm of what a fan (with advanced CG skills) could do. Each Bay movie could probably be whittled down to an hour each, and CG fixed. Some movies, like the last one, maybe a 30-minute piece. I'd go so far as to make it more chronological, and put the Bee movie as 1st (and "but it's a reboot" = BS). The movies are not unsalvagable, just really not enjoyable as-is.

Removing all the Pokemon-esque kiddie scenes from the various 00s TF shows wouldn't be a bad idea, either. A lot of those are about 10 minutes of actual show, and 10 minutes of fluff. You could probably slim down a 13-ep span to a 2-hour-max movie version. Again, simple cuts are easily within the realm of what a fan could do.

However, I do tend to be in the "leave it alone" crowd.

I always cringe when I see things like "video games when you were a kid", and then all the system mentioned came out after college was already over. My younger days were Atari, Pong, Intellivision, C64, NES, Sega MS.

I would love the RID (car robots) series to be remastered, or MasterForce, with different english voice actors.

I would love to see Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory fixed up as good as the Sunbow cartoon. For whatever reason, they don't look nearly as good as the Sunbow DVD's. I suspect that there just isn't good source video to work with.

And I'd love to see them get a new English dub.

I love the old NES and Sega Master System. Most of my 80's and 90's games are ones I've picked up at shops, shows, etc. But I managed to find a case filled with about 30 of my old Sega Master System games at my parents' house. I still have my original Master System console but I don't have any of the cables/power adapter so I have no idea if it still functions. I bought an aftermarket Sega MS to Genesis converter so that I can play them in the meantime.

They should rerelease the Unicron Trilogy shows but with better and more accurate Dubs and translations. Give us what the Japanese got! But Hasbro probably won't touch those things in a million years. lmao

The only remasters I'd want is a straight up-conversation of what they already have. Though like others here suggested, re-releasing the Japanese only anime series from the franchise with a official dub track would be pretty sweet.

And for the Love of Solus Prime, the next time they release a G1 Japanese set, please include "Scramble City" without mandatory commentary and the 1 "Zone" episode.

Transformers is not above a visual remaster. It's hardly high art, and when you honestly look at all the media the franchise has produced over it's 30+ years, I can think of maybe two or three genuinely great things it's produced. The vast majority of shows, comics, and movies are just crap.

I'd love to see BW remastered with modern CGI, or TFA redone with quality and fluidity to the animation. Even the best TF media often suffer from outdated or poor visuals.

I want the Marvel comics redrawn and rewritten. The story would still be the same but the artwork would look a lot better, and the writing would be more in-depth.

This is a difficult question for me to answer. I remember fantasizing about a CGI remake of G1 back when Beast Wars was on TV. Back then, I was still a new Transfan and had yet to actually SEE the original cartoon. After having seen it multiple times, though, I can't see it with any animation other than the typical 80s Saturday Morning Cartoon animation it got. If it is to be remastered in any way, it should simply be redoing the animation to fix all the errors the show had.

Energon could definitely have been done better, both in writing AND animation. The cel-shaded CG art style used for the robots would've been much better if better animated. Characters also could've stood to be more memorable, like Demolishor was at first.

All I want is a nice modern dub of Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Beast Wars II, and Beast Wars Neo.

The G2 cartoon worked out so well...

Leave the old stuff be. Make new stuff. Maybe try and give new directors or animation studios a chance to put their own spin on a few iconic scenes as tributes or extras, but limit it to that.

Yeah, I can’t say I enjoyed the G2 re-edit of the Sunbow cartoon. I did however enjoy the Season 5 re-edit with the stop motion Powermaster Optimus Prime.

Whatever hasn't been re-released on dvd yet. Just a few little clean ups if there are any legit technical problems on the master tapes due to age, or whatever.

I want Five Faces of Darkness and The Rebirth as remastered Movies on Blu-Ray. Maybe also cut a movie from some The Headmasters and Masterforce episodes and dub it. Call the compilation Transformers Generations :p  And if it works well, also do movies of the best episodes of other TF shows. But remastered in widescreen HD of course.

I hate to be "that guy", but anyone saying that Beast Wars' animation needs redoing is completely missing the point as to how significant that show was upon its release, and what an example it still sets in regards to the nuances of 3D character animation.

I'm all for actually "remastering" any series (i.e. restoration and scanning the original footage and soundtracks in at higher quality), but anything more than that is just needless revisionism. Make the next Beast Wars rather than complaining that it doesn't look like incomparable modern CGI.
