Went to a local toy fair last weekend. Saw a misb hydrocopter in one of the stalls (It's on the right). Anyway, i had it as a child and remembered it fondly, so i bought it on sight (add that's no easy to find a good loking boxed one, this was sealed with sealed baggies inside) (Here it is with the rest of the bounty, mind the galactic defender and the mazinger z are my two sons' "finds"). Anyway went home a few hours later, unMISBed it (sorry but life's too short and harsh to keep great toys in their boxes and bags ...) The 40 years old motor F#####G WORKS!!! IT'S ALIVEEEE! (miss ya joey jonny tommy & dee dee ... sigh ...). I'm an happy child again!!!
Wow, great find! Thanks for unlocking another otherwise forgotten memory. I have no idea where mine is or if I even still have it.
Recent microman acquisitions My apologies for photo spamming and crappy quality ... ...God i love this line to no end!
I just wanted to say awesome job on all of the custom work you have displayed in here and for almost single-handedly keeping this thread alive. I know recreating this stuff...especially in Tinkercad...which I love, by the way...can be a tedious endeavour. It all looks great and I applaud your dedication and hard work!
Thanks. I have forgotten to post many of my replacement parts here lately. My Shapeways store is full of them!
I can only offer thoughts on my limited experience with the Microman line. I owned the Street Fighter Microman figures of Chun-Li and Sakura and don't recommend them at all. Their softer plastic goods (the skirt, sock, and hair pieces) all cracked and disintegrated over time (a few short months) after opening and display (no rough play). Just something to be wary off. In hindsight, I should've just kept them MISB for pure package display.
A customer of my Shapeways store sent this picture today. He had a ziplock baggie with the torso and legs of several Acroyear toys. He used my 3d printed arms and heads to help make the figures more complete. I created the arms based on the original toy arms, while the head mold is based on the Marvel Comics Acroyear helmet.
I have been trying to get a hold of Missiler and Data for a while because I want to recreate them as 3d prints.
If we weren't living in different continents i would have glady sent my copy to you for "scientific reasons"
Maybe you can help. Can you take photographs straight on from all angles and give me the overall EXACT height of the figure standing? I bet I can come up with something close.
yup, a lot of the newer microman toys suffered from various materials issues, I stick with vintage/repro and the magne powers line!
I have Kicker, which came with that one fat Convoy toy, and I had to replace his knee or something from another Microman.
