tfcc and generations thundercracker, while sharing the same mold and character, are different.

 

Yeah, any combine configuration Hasbro gives us will only include Hasbro releases, so Roller, Counterpunch, Medix and others like them wont be a part of Inferno's combine form.

 

As much as I dislike giving everyone a “combiner ability” because it dilutes the “specialness” of the combiner concept, a seeker combiner is a great idea.

In order to continue the idea of “themed” teams, it could have been a “deep space exploration and combat” team and maybe a good counterpart to Elita’s team.

I only have two real sticking points to this idea.

- Starscream’s PotP mold is not cute. Ugh. Barely any paint apps and wonky sculpt. This needs a major redo. New mold plz.

- it’s hard to choose which characters as the limbs because you have so many trios to choose from (Seekers, Coneheads, Rainmakers, Targetmasters). Maybe one character from each trio sub team?

It would be neat if HasTak revisited this some time in the future... :-/

 

Technically, there are 2 autobots torsos that needs limbs. Remember the solo release Scattershot that was supposed to combine with Optimus' team to form Betatron? Well there would be 1 torso without limbs. So that's Inferno, Optimus/Scattershot, and Starscream. We have golden Lagoon Starscream, Ghost Starscream from Unite Warriors, and Shattered Glass Starscream from TFSS/TFCC. I say give us 1 more Starscream limb. He has the ego/mindset to only combine with himself. Armada would be a great final limb.

But back to the topic at hand...think Pulse will stock the Walgreen's Exclusive too like the Signatures alas late to the party? I hate searching Walgreens. The 3 closest never stock new stuff and I hate waiting for them to go online. I barely got Brainstorm's exclusive because it never came to any of the 7 stores in my town and had to find him on a blind luck find on a business trip about 50 miles from Detroit. UGH.

 

I wish that either Hasbro or Takara would at least release just one more repaint of the UW Starscream mold - we're currently only one limb short of an all-Starscream combiner (PotP Starscream torso, plus TFCC Shattered Glass Starscream, UW Ghost Starscream, and Gold Lagoon Starscream).

Solo Scattershot goes under the same umbrella as Prime. Same character. Doesn’t need another official team. “Betatron” and Computron won’t be hanging out together any more than the Prime ones.

I use Alpha Bravo as my G2 Blades. He does have a blue stripe... And CW First Aid as G2 ( since the UW version is my G1 and the deco is different ). Though I suspect we'll get Ratchet at a later date. Heck, that Wal-Green's exclusive ratchet that everyone assumes will be Siege might be Combiner Wars. That is where we got our Orange Groove-Gar...

 

Walgreens exclusives have corresponded to the product line that is on shelves at the time. There is very little reason to assume that the Walgreens ratchet is not a war for cybertron siege mold, especially considering ratchet is in the new comic using the siege ironhide as a basis of design

 

I was gonna do the G2 thing but I don't have Alpha Bravo. Instead, I bought 4 Wreck Gars when Walgreens.com had them for 1\2 price These along with legends Wreck Gar will combine nicely with Inferno. My eventual plan is to get the toyhax labels to change the decos on 3/4 of the Wreck Gars and get the Pyro kit for Inferno. Maybe call him Landfill or something.

 

I'm pretty sure Wreck-Gar came out during Power of the Primes, and he was a Combiner Wars toy...

 

Still power of the primes. PotP was CW 2.0. Starscream, Elita1 were silverbolt remolds. Inferno was a hot spot. Black wing and Darkwind were cw jet remolds. The only thing truly potp were the leaders evolution gimmick and the prime shells. So the potp wreck gar cw groove redeco worked. Now thats not saying we wont get a signature series CW Ratchet out of cw First Aid. Just a little resculpt on an Iron hide head and presto. But i see that long after the SigS gives us the full seacons. Since we know the torso is coming. Im more curious what the 2nd line in WFC will be. And if Hasbro will bring back the legends scale figures to give us bee, jumper, etc.

 

he was potp, that head wasnt part of the original tooling. the groove mold mate for combiner wars was afterburner, wreck-gar was an opportunistic remold specifically made for potp

starscream and elita-1 may be mold mates of each other, but they are not remolds of any sort with silverbolt.

also, i dont know why people forget this, but hasbro asked funpub to make cw ratchet the custom class exclusive since they decided they had no intention of releasing it themselves. technically hasbro has already released cw ratchet.

 

If they aren't remolds, they have the same transformation style. Close enough if you ask me. At the very least it was the base for them. Maybe they went back to redesign but i guarantee it was the base starting point. And i seriously doubt their intention was a custom class where they had about 300 figures or less was their intended mass release ratchet. Especially since funpub never offered them to their members. All extras that werent sold at botcon 2016 went to tfcon in canada and europe. How was that fair? Sure pay $400 for a 3rd party seller for the same figure ypu cpuld buy in stpre for $15 and $9 w shipping from shapeways to get the head and paint it yourself. At least thats what i did. So what my ratchet wasnt official botcon/fun pub. I spent less than an amazon deluxe exclusive and looks exactly the same.

 

Silverbolt was the basis for hun-grr not starscream/elita. The transform nothing alike except for the bot mode arms being the thighs, but even that process is different. And wether you doubt it or not, hasbro asked funpub to use ratchet for the custom class because they decided not to release it in stores.

But anyway this is getting off topic. Personally I wouldn’t expect to see ratchet on pulse simply because none of the previous Walgreens exclusives were ever put on hasbro toy shop

 

Hey, I just an email from Hasbro Pulse about Blackarachnia. I mean, it's like four days after it was put up but hey! Progress!

 

If I'm not mistaken, Hasbro insisted that Ratchet be released through Botcon (they had other plans for the customization class and Hasbro said no do Ratchet instead) specifically because they decided not to do a US release. I wouldn't hold your breath.

 

Eh. You never know. As others like to point out... Botcon Seekers.

I have the UW and Botcon Ratchets so I’m not hugely concerned. But it’d be nice.

 

Botcon doing a figure doesn’t mean hasbro won’t do it, hasbro telling botcon to do a figure because they don’t plan to means it’s highly unlikely to come out at retail, plus again ratchet is in the new comics with siege ironhide as a basis of design. The comics have already shown off a couple of siege figure designs before their release (Optimus and barricade) so it’s much more likely for Walgreens ratchet to be a siege remold of ironhide rather than a limb figure hasbro couldn’t be bothered to release at retail 3 years ago
