Just got my arms for this guy today. I ordered mine from TF Direct, and their set A was sold out at the time. So I just ordered them anyway because they tolod me the back order was coming in about two weeks. No prob. I can wait two more weeks and get the free shipping now... But it turned out to be more like 3 months! Auuuuurrrgh. That was a tough wait. Alls well that ends well, though.

I LOVE this guy! One of my favorite pieces right out of the boxes. I'm crazy for the hard-mech, diaclone-ish aesthetic. And all the little extras on this guy really sell it: the extra missiles, the hidden weapons, the fantastic head transformation, the light up eyes, the option to integrate or separate the forearms in vehicle mode... this thing is just gorgeous and brilliant. And I really needed it in this scale for the set to work. It really had to be this big, or I could not have used it in my collection. I traded in my Unite Warriors Devy, complete with upgrade kits, in order to clear the space and raise the extra funds to afford this guy. And I am very, very happy with that decision.

My only instability is in the combined knees. They do give a bit, and so I have to be moderately careful posing the big guy, making sure his center of gravity is stable so he won't topple. But my copy is certainly not un-pose-able by any stretch.

 

It would be nice if Jinbao did the upgrade kits instead of doing the rusty version and OS legends prime.

 

They have teased the upgrade kit on their weibo. So its when not an if.

 

Where does longhaul's gun suppose to go in devastator mode? All the other constructicons can store their guns properly in their leg/arm mode, except I can't figure out where to put longhaul's guns.

Don't think longhaul has that option in combined mode. You can peg his gun on the combiners back, but its not hidden away. I do not have mine any more, but I vaguely remember a gun going in the crotch for longhaul in alt mode. Could be wrong though.

Edit: just checked emgo's video. In alt mode his gun tabs between his legs.

Just curious, I assume the upgrade kit lock up the knees right?

Also would be very interested to know how to re-tighten those ratchets.

 

The knees articulate like normal. The lower knee ratchet is stopped after 1 or 2 clicks by the design of the knee extension because past that point, it's basically useless under the weight of the combined toy. The upper knee ratchet in the thighs is unhindered since it's the stronger of the 2 knee joints.

 

Whats the deal with the official JB upgrade kit?

Post a photo of your attempt? Maybe I can figure out what isn't working for you. Rotating the hands is the important part, the rectangular tabs on the gun don't actually tab into the rectangular holes in the wrists, but they should still stay in that gap if you tab the DT arms back together again.

I figured it just sat in place but it just falls out when I try to put him back on shelf, I don't get what you mean by the arms tabbing together, they just sit there on mine nothing to tab them to each other?

 

They don't tab to each other, but there are rectangular tabs on a grey upside-down T-shape piece in the back that attach to ports on the purple forearms of Dump Truck, that should hold the forearms (and the gun between them) fairly securely in place.

 

Can anyone tell me what battery goes with the jinbao devastator, mine came without one?
