I've not got any pictures because it's late and dark and I'm shattered, but this guy is definitely my MP Springer. I've now owned Allen, Apache, Big Spring and Saltus and for me this fella ticks the most boxes. Apache obviously has great shelf presence and looks the part, but I actually stuck to Big Spring in the end purely because of the far, far nicer transformation - which made up for his, frankly, just about acceptable looks. This chap has it all though - the best transformation of the lot, great posability and a terrific, imposing bot. The car is definitely the weakest bit but then I'd say the same of Apache and Big Spring too.

If I was being picky I'd say it's a shame there's no decent back storage for the sword and the ankle/foot assembly is a bit fussy for posing. But those are the only complaints I have. He's awesome. Oh and shout out to Show Z who had him to me in the UK in just four days!

It's the palms. They've some meat to them.

Maybe the open hands too, the backs of the fingers are oddly thick and somehow spindly due to the ribs that are supposed to be knuckles.

 

got mine today...super easy transformation, tried to follow the instructions, which are all screwed up and ended up just using what I'd seen in the vids and just going on how I thought it should go, went through all 3 modes pretty easy, then set it down and transformed his order mate, Azalea, then came back to it and did the transformations again and just as easy or even easier the 2nd time around. Will swap the heads out because I like the other style better but everything else I am happy with. Yea, the car mode is a bit off, but not a total blech. All in all a definite good job on it and happy with my purchase.

 

Just got this guy. Super intuitive transformation and easy too, which is something you usually can't say about triple changers. I've had a ton of fun going through all the modes.

MMC continues to make toys I love even as they grow older as a company. My top 5 have to be; 1) Overlord, 2) Sky Lynx, 3) Springer, 4) Rampage/Catilla/Divebomb, and 5) Razorclaw.

 

They just look so complete together. It’s fantastic. MMC nailed their own aesthetic for sure.

 

Damn, I would buy both MMC's Springer and Arcee right now but apparently the Government overpaid my allowance, so now I owe debt for a whole month haha. Wow they look fantastic. Excellent photos guys! Had a great chuckle at the ugly one too.

He loves Fanstoys - that's fine. We all have stuff we like. There's lots I do like about Apache because he does some stuff very well but personally I prefer Saltus, and that's also OK.

 

Maaannnn he gives the (objective) crown to Saltus over Apache and people STILL hate on him?! Dude can't win  

I personally didn't like Apache enough to keep him (so friggin' tired of F/T's under-cooked engineering), but I can totally understand why he'd check a box if all you're gonna do is pose him and plop him on a shelf.

 

Yeah I thought it was a pretty fair comparison as well, and ultimately the reasons he outlined are why I prefer MMC. I guess the question for me now, do I sell off FT or have a misfit shelf lol

 

I'm keeping Apache because 1. It still looks pretty good. 2. I am WAAAAY too lazy to get it down off a shelf, transform it back into the box and sell it. Life's too short for that.

But I do prefer Saltus, he has the quality but is just more fun all round and better poseability always goes a long way with me.

 

So what's the general consensus about the quality of Saltus or is it still not out yet?

 

Ultimately, it's not about ticking checkboxes. Because we are such visual creatures, a figure might have superior engineering, paint, etc, but if it has a horrible face and/or bad paint, those would not matter. In other words, some checkboxes are worth more than others.

I really want to like this, but I just can't get over the torso. I've looked at it again and again trying to convince myself, but nah, I just can't pull the trigger. FT Apache is far from perfect, but I like the bot mode and helicopter mode better and those are the two things that count for me.

Ok, XTB, let's see what you got so that we can close the chapter on The Springer Wars.

 

about 50% of the reason I pick up any triple changer is the engineering, so I think I'll need to get saltus eventually
