From the sounds of it, the two 'versions' are acting in concert according to the same plan, with the 'younger' one fully intending to become the 'older' one. They don't see eachother as different people, they see it as one person ending their own life in a complicated, time-delayed way. I can understand the 'suicide' interpretation.

You're making it more complicated than it is. The older Wally probably would have just killed himself except he wanted to let the 5 days younger him know some things he'd need to look out for in doing what he was planning to do in the next 5 days before he kicked off. In any case "both" Wallys treated it as a suicide.

Bit of a tongue twister there, but alright.

I'm surprised that the Year of the Villains cover are the main covers. I though they were the variant covers.

Interesting how both The Green Lantern and Young Justice are both exploring the multiverse, but in different ways.

Also, I'm glad that the Silencer is involved in issue 3 for Event Leviathan, and I hope that the Red Hood is not the leader of Leviathan.

I'm weirdly interested in the big DC event, despite not liking the last big comic event that Bendis wrote, Civil War II. But I hope that being at DC will allow him to bring something new and an interesting story.

I've literally shown you the panel where one person literally harmed another body. You're still telling me I didn't read the book? YIKES.

I would absolutely agree with you if not for the fact that we now have TWO Wally's. One which is alive and another that is a dead body. The timeline that involved Poison Ivy might not come to pass at this point -- Hence my reasoning for thinking dead Wally is now an alternate.

Anyway, all that aside, this argument serves no purpose. You're not having a conversation with me in good faith. This is about 'winning' for you at this point. We're both FAR too old for this silliness.

If you want to say it's suicide. Okay, cool. I think you're jumping to some conclusions that haven't been completely confirmed yet to justify your argument, but whatever.

Why would Wally even need to time jump? Why not just kill himself in a more traditional method if he really wanted to just kill himself? Why set up the entire scenario to make it look like a murder mystery? The plot holes are gigantic.

We don't. Now 5 days have passed and the "younger" Wally is now dead.

What?? That's what you're doing. You've seen a panel and think that means you've read the book. You're arguing something that clearly isn't the intent of the book just so you can split hairs and continue to refer to a man who committed suicide as a "murderer." THAT is not good faith.

This has already been explained SO CLEARLY -- IN THE BOOK. If you read it, you'd know why.

Wally needed 5 days in the real world to get his affairs in order before killing himself. But if the other heroes arrived at the house and didn't find Wally alongside everyone else, they'd know he was responsible somehow, immediately come after him, and he wouldn't have the time he needed. So after he was done and was ready to die, he had his younger self take his dead body and place it alongside everyone else, which is what gave him the freedom to have those 5 days he just had in the first place. You are overcomplicating the story by imagining them as two people, and by falsely interpreting the story as the younger Wally went hunting for the older. They are one guy with the same plan at different points in the execution of that plan.

You don't like the story? That's cool. But turning it into something it isn't to help justify your dislike is disingenuous. I'm not arguing just to win. I'm trying to explain something which seems much more simple if you just read the comic than the people who are hating the book from afar are imagining it.

I wonder if it's related to this:

Although the article you mentioned did say this:
This is not a replacement for what we previously heard was to be a Suicide Squad series starring Wally West, somehow surviving Heroes In Crisis, but it would fill a schedule gap between the two.

I guess this will appease someone...question is who?

I have to be honest. I'd rather Wally be dead than part of the Suicide Squad. It's easier to bring him back to life later than remove the stink of an elongated period of character assassination.

Speaking of younger Wally, I'm currently reading Silver Age Flash, and it's just such a delight to go back to Wally's beginning and see how optimistic and enthusiastic he is. Some of his dialogue makes me chuckle ("Jumping jets!"), but that's just the era. And he starts out with a smaller version of Barry's costume, interesting. I wonder when the yellow and red with the open topped cowl comes along? I'll enjoy learning the answer.

I forgot the exact details, but the open cowl costume comes in fairly early (1963 according to Wikipedia)

If you want a surprise, wait until you read HOW Wally gets the open top costume.

I kind of get what he's saying, but when I have been liking The Wild Storm as much as I have, hearing the next thing is going to be the opposite of that kind of feels disappointing.
