The movies are the same as the TV show, aside from a few minor changes (3 of note)

    1) Shirley isnt killed by Rolo 2) Shirly didnt shoot Viletta - Diethard did. 3)There's no Mao arc, so lelouch never has to wiper her memory with Geass.

BTW Shirley does nothing in the movie except for talk to CC on her cell phone. There was no point to those changes, unless they have an arc planned for her in whatever comes next, as the creatornsaid there are "10 years" of Code Geass projects in the works. Hopefully a new series.

Its a great movie, too. Has a nice setup for whatever comes next.

The movie's end sets up a new Lelouch story, separate from the Black Knights/UFN. So maybe a series of OVAs with separate, sometimes connecting stories. Mystical magical Lelouch/CC geass stories and then more Gundam-esq Suzaku/Kallen ones.

Indeed. And CC did say Shirley had a small hand in bringing Lelouch back.
But I do hope more is done with Shirley in the future. Especially more Lelouch interactions.

High Score Girl is such a great show. I really brings me back to my childhood going to the arcade to play these games.

So, is there a good place to buy sub-versions of anime for US machines?

When US distribution doesn't bother to fork over for a dub?

Otherwise, that's not a thing. Nobody sells stripped-down version of the home video product just because you don't want to pay for the dub.

Eh, sorry for asking. I usually go with dub, but with how strongly some people swear by sub, I figured there might have been a home market for it.

Sorry, that probably sounded over-aggressive. I meant that as a general "you", not a personal "you".

It's not that a market doesn't exist. It's just that there's no financial incentive to do so. Releasing a separate sub-only disk means separate manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and inventory. You're also splitting the market for your multi-audio release.

It's just like those Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs you see most movies released as nowadays. Even if you never use one of those disks, there's just a lot less logistics issues if they're shipped together.

If you're talking about buying stuff subbed on DVD or blu ray you can start with Amazon or Rightstuf. Rightstuf does sales all the time so you can get some pretty good deals there. AnimEigo is still around and sells stuff through their site. Sentai Filmworks is another place to go.

Of course Best Buy, Target, and Walmart has a little bit.

CD Japan has some English subbed stuff as well. The blu rays will work fine in the US. The DVDs are region coded though. You'll pay a bit more + you have int'l shipping. Keep in mind also, some of the stuff you buy there, the menus and options are only in Japanese.

I know you were asking about buying but you also have streaming services like Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix. You can watch a lot of stuff that way w/o breaking the bank.

A lot of options out there now. Much different story back in the 80s/90s. Not as much stuff then as there is now.

Very interesting to see Aniplex of all companies do an English version of an anime Opening.
