At this time, XTB has a backlog to rival FTs. I personally dont like that policy of early reveals that take years to finish, but if they think its working....We have seen a prototype and they seem to have done more work on it, so its a matter of when me thinks.

 

He was big bot in that most Autobots are relatively short. In the movie and on the scale chart Magnus is only like a head taller than Prime.

I'm not trying to dictate others' collections. If you like your Magnus to be towering over the other bots, like the G1 toy, that's fine. I just wish we had a Magnus that stood at the relative height he has on the scale chart and in the movie.

 

Fair point I guess. I like my Arcee to be on the short scale irrelevant of scale charts (I believe that one too is not correct), as you say it somes down to preference. I just got the feeling that they are overdoing it a bit with Magnus.

 

Yeah, MP-22 is definitely a little big. He's decent - I don't hate him like a lot of people seem to - but he could be better. It's funny because people are saying the FansToys figures scale well with MP-22... but people think MP-22 is too big. So then wouldn't the FansToys Hot Rod, Arcee, Kup and Springer (and probably Blurr) all be too big as well? I dunno, I try not to let it bother me because I don't care enough about scale to be that pedantic, but it does amuse me.

It's happening. They showed an early prototype last year. It'll either happen this year or next. We don't know yet.

 

I reduced the size of the head by 10%. I think it looks better.

Since the bump is still warm, I must say, I'm still excited for it.
FT's is too much for me to happily transform to ALT mode; though I like him. Plus I hope XTB's Kup to be more of a blue than a green. Lots of ratchets please XTB.

 

Yeah I’m pretty excited. Cause I’m sure it’ll be good. I mean I’m not gonna get their springer but this is way better than the fanstoys one and the toyworld one as well. I do hope they do a maverl comics blue and dark grey deco. That’d be sweet.

 

Sent a message asking ibot about Locke and he said they’re fixing up the latest version, making it look good. Hoping it’ll be on display or selling by TFCon.

Meanwhile we got a G2 Beachcomber. Like seriously? Deadend better be great, because so far he's looking like the most solid bot in XTB's Stunticons.

Edit: It's impossible Kup will be available 2 months from now. We have 2 Stunticons, 1 Seaspray, 1 Police Skids among others.

It is possible to be grumpy while also being correct. Waiting sucks and no one likes to wait for an undetermined amount of time for something that may or may not ever actually happen.

 

I grew tired of waiting and went with another option when it was reissued.
If Locke ever does get released I'll revisit, but I generally don't double up on figures, so...

 

Honestly, I've double-dipped on Hot Rodimus, so I imagine I can on both Kup and Blurr as well, if for no other reason than to have them both with my 86 crew and with my Autobots Targetmasters at the same time. I rarely do that, but I like those 3 well enough.

 

I am the same way on some figures. I have the TT Hot Rod that will stay in car mode and the FT version as well as MP-09. The other figures where I double/triple dipped were MMC Carnifex/FH Double Evil/KFC Overlord and then FH Power Baser-Godbomber/KFC King Raijin just because I love those characters so much. I would have done the same with GCreations Fuuma/FT Hydra and still need to do it with XTB Eligos/FT Quietus. Damn China scammers on eBay screwed me out of FT Quietus and Hydra. I have UT Buzzing so I am out on FT Jabber.

 

Yeah, and I tend to be one who doesn't like the whole "I gotta have one for each mode" kinda thing, because these are Transformers. I mean, I get the whole approach of displays and such, but 2 and 3 of each figure gets expensive quick. I'm glad to typically just have one copy of a figure.

Now, troopbuilding? That's a different story

It can get expensive. Fortunately, there's enough competition and production anymore that most everything goes down in price with time.

Even the TTMall exclusives, it seems. Stupid Coneheads... less than ninety bucks.
