So after having this figure on my shelf for a while Ive put my finger on what I appreciate about it. It has qualities that I like about Fans Hobby figures. As a collector who used to buy more individual figures and ended up narrowing my focus on Generations figures this works out well for me. I'm glad there is a figure that fits in with my official stuff and scratches that itch.

I finally got this guy thanks to Transfan2's shop and it's honestly my favorite Siege figure now. It captures the look the original had while adding in extra stability and articulation. Even if you have the original but want something fresh, I definitely recommend it. Here's to hoping more Unicron Trilogy figures get the same treatment as this one

Where did you get that amazing background for your Transformers?

Is it possible to replace the head of the super mode with the head of the regular bot head?

That way he will look like a real "upgraded" g1 prime (=

Not without heavy modding, it's a much larger balljoint on the super mode...

But I may have a different answer, I'll post a pic later

Finally got my copy, really like the look of him but is it just me or or are the joints super loose compared to ultra Magnus?

After playing around for a while I managed to kkinda fudge the flying fire truck mode as well!

    As promised!

So I liked this guy, but there was something wrong... I didn' t know what, I couldn't figure it out...
Until I put my finger over his one of his headwings! Then I remembered that's what I hated about Galaxy Convoy!

So all I did was cut off the headwings! And I think it really makes all the difference!
(Note, I did leave the "tubes" that connect the the wings to the head so that there's something one the side of the head.)

It's still kind of rough cut, but I'll clean it up later...

I wish the inner robot was its own release. I really like the look. Kind of a chunky OP and the alt mode looks great even without the trailer junk.

Is there a ton of partsforming involved with this guy?

    Only the armor part-forms.

You could buy the figure and sell the armor if you don't like it...
I know I would kill for another of his silver gun! Lol

Looking closer at the sirens it looks like they're the same blue as the windscreen but have been painted over in red? Has anyone tried stripping the paint off of them?

Curious if it's possible to swap core Optimus' head with siege voyager Optimus' for a more toy/marvel comic look.

I got this guy about a month ago, and I gotta say, I haven’t been able to stop messing with him. He’s my favorite in the entire Siege line up to this point. I know he’s just a retool of Magnus (which I also love) but there’s just something about this version of the mold that makes me favor it more. I never owned the original, so I can’t really form a comparison opinion. Until I can find an original one at a reasonable price though, this guy does just fine. He’s really such a fun figure.

That was my first thought today when I opened mine. Pretty much every joint is super loose, several of them almost free-swinging floppy. It feels like a figure that was played with repeatedly for years. Hopefully they aren’t all this way.

Hmmm, the back wheels in alt mode don’t sit flush. They angle upwards. Have tried fiddling about with it a few different ways with the same result. Anyone else found this?

Well I'd say this one is another win for Siege! The alt. mode could look a little more solid, but it's mostly the nature of the design.

Speaking of which, extra points for using a non-G1 inspiration for the homage. It's something that should always be appreciated in the sea of G1-til-I-die throwbacks we're drowning in.

Does it beat the fantastic Voyager Siege Optimus? In terms of playability and fiddle-factor, I'd say it wins in spades, and the super mode looks imposing as hell (even if he is a dinky dot next to the OG). Your mileage is obviously going to vary, but it is worth giving GU Prime a chance, since it brings plenty of different things to the table compared to the Voyager.

If you mean the wheels on the back of the trailer, yeah, I had that to begin with. It turned out, the grey tabs that plug into the back of the armoured feet weren't in all the way (it took quite a bit of force to get them fully in the first time around).

Your pics convinced me to finally order this guy. I ordered through amazon, since I have points and got him for $0.00! However he doesn’t release on amazon til July 1st so I have a bit of a wait. If I see him on a store shelf before then I might bite and cancel my order. I can always use amazon points for other stuff :)

I’ll most likely be selling my siege Optimus in favor of this guy, cause I like the versatility and non-G1 inspired look. I’ll probably keep him in a semi-armored half mode like you have him.
