I have always been treated well by Sidecutter and his business. I have several hundreds of dollars in items that have been released for a while but haven't heard anything for about 6 months. I do hope this will all be resolved soon. Id even pay for shipping at this point if it gets things to me faster. I would appreciate an update of sorts. I wouldn't put him anywhere near what happened with another etailer I won't mention. That said, can we get some update or at least contact customers individually?
I've always wanted to try ordering from Captured Prey, but they never have anything I like in stock. That said, I hope all is well for CP and its owner/employees.
Well after 3 months of no response from Orson I decided to go ahead and challenge the charge with my CC company last night and was refunded the $. For me, while I am happy to get my money back I am sad that Captured Prey has ultimately let it's customers down. For a business to go radio silent for months when there are obviously a lot of customers who need and want updates on their things is inexcusable. I've been shopping with Orson for almost 10 years and I am sad that this is how it ends with my patronage to his store.
Just to throw another data point into the mix: Last Wednesday (May 8), I ordered one in-stock item from the website and paid for shipping (as it was under $150). A shipping label was created May 9, and USPS had it by the morning of May 10 (I thought that tracking originally showed they had it late night May 9, but I don't see that on the USPS tracking now). My item arrived yesterday, with normal quantities of bubble wrap, a packing slip, a business card, and a small Toyhax 'Bot/'Con insignia label sheet (which I think they use for advertising). Obviously, YMMV (and based on this thread, has been V'ing quite a bit), but Sidecutter hasn't completely abandoned the business. (I have been ordering from CP since 2012, but my most recent order before last week was more than a year ago.)
TCP has received a restock of Mega Doragon, now we'll see if any of us is going to get one from this place.
It really sounds like he's struggling to secure/pay for new stock, so he's just picking off particular products as he is able to.
I got a response from Sidecutter via PayPal dispute last night, and a tracking number to go along with it. Both of my outstanding orders are showing as shipped on the site. Unless it gets held up, it should be delivered by the end of the week. Here's hoping that everyone else gets some good news soon too.
My orders should be held aside in his stock since he would have received them a long time ago and should only be held awaiting one preorder. I just want to know those are set aside since they are all sold out. I just wish he would let me know if that's the case.
Two out of the three were also past. I included them in the opening message when I started the claim process, but I doubt PayPal would have done anything. As Hicks said, he mentioned something about his Hydra shipment getting screwed up as the reason for the delay on my orders. I know that there are plenty of folks here waiting on things completely unrelated to Hydra. I honestly didn't give the response much thought. I was just glad to receive one.
I have Hydra as part of the ones I'm waiting for. Honestly if all they sold was fanstoys and xtb, they would do fine assuming they could get sufficient volume. CP was an early adopter of Fanstoys and I'm sure they got good treatment for it but with the hobby accelerating, I'm sure wholesalers buy the runs and etailers get what they can commit to upfront so my guess is the smaller stores suffer. That's all speculation on my part. I really do want to see to his work out, they have always been a good store.
OK thanks - I have never had to dispute via paypal so I didn't know if it just notified him and he called/emailed or if it was within the Paypal app itself. Thanks,
