He's not that short. Fudgeable with a riser.

As someone who doesnt really give a shit about Skyfire, I'm very fine with his size. They did good.

I grabbed a broken Kronos cheap on eBay a while back. (Such a fascinating story.) Fixed his ankle with a Shapeways kit and he's been my Skyfire since. I transformed him a ton, and despite the less than ideal plastic feel and a couple hard to find scuffs, I thought he looked great.

I got FT-10 but never took him out of the box and then sold him (for too little apparently). He's a tad to brawny for me which is probably nit-picky. But I had a neat drama filled example of the 3P world and a decent looking Skyfire to boot already.

If I found a Phoenix cheap, I'd probably scoop him up again.

I think he's much more than just a decent alternative. I think he's a good choice, honestly. You prove a point he isn't tiny

Definitely Siege is the best alternative. I understand that Phoenix's size is for the most part accepted as being the proper scale, but when I put mine among my other MPs, he almost seems obnoxiously big. If I had no knowledge of the show, I would think he was out of place. Siege, while you could make an argument that he's smaller than he's supposed to be, he still towers over Prime and he actually looks like he belongs among other MPs sizewise.

Aesthetically, he resembles the more pre-toon accuracy designs imo, but that doesn't bother me. The plastic quality is most likely in line with the other siege figures vs what you would see in an MP. Other than that, if I didn't have Phoenix, this guy would go up on my MP shelf. (Actually Phoenix doesn't even fit on my MP shelf so maybe I'll grab a Siege version regardless). :)

Fantoysbois can chime in all they want. I'm choosing the Hasbro.

That doesn't look much different in size to Kronos tbf (old pic)

    FB_IMG_1557840965538.jpg

I know Kronos got alot of grief but mine wasn't too bad tbh. A few scuffs here and there and a broken pinky. Filled the spot for ages and if you can get it cheap it doesn't have detailing on his details.

Siege for me, size looks great to my eye. I don't have shelf space for a stupidly giant Skyfire anyway.

Fans Toys Pheonix is the only way to go, it is one of FT's best releases and no other company has even tried to compete. Hasbro's Seige Jetfire might be a decent looks wise match, but doubt the quality will be the same. Also, I think Baba had it for sale for $259USD, if you really want one buy now, probably six months to a year Pheonix will cost more than $500.

But that's the point of the thread. Financially it isn't the way to go for a lot of ppl and the question is what is the alternative.

Pheonix is 110% not worth the current secondhand price. It's ridiculous.

Just curious, why don't you care about Skyfire? Just not an important character? I ask because, for some reason, I don't think of him as all that important a character but I'm really not sure why. Maybe it's because I mostly prefer the characters with earth alt modes.

I agree and I had every intention of buying siege up until the reissue got announced (was just waiting for payday and my "fun budget"). I'm still pretty tempted to get Siege anyway if I only had any use for him (don't need him on my MP shelf and I'm just not a big enough Jetfire fan to need a standalone). His transformation looks much easier than Phoenix's and I just love the hand and symbol gimmicks. Even the size is ok with me (was probably gonna' stick him on a 2" riser though) with my only complaint being the Siege line's insanely excessive greeblies.

It's a sad story but, I was just never into it. He showed up and, kind of went along with everything.

    Heroic Autobot
    Skyfire
    Motto: Huh? What? Ok, sure.

I think the Seige will be a fine addition. You'd just have to watch how your lighting is, due to the greeble. He is also $100 cheaper.

Yeah, a 2" riser ought to do it. I already have my TE-01 on like a 1.5".

Or whatever pieces of him you can manage to collect and reassemble.

I think Siege Skyfire is the best bet.

I'm getting the Siege no matter what. I already own Phoenix, and it's lovely.

But that Siege one looks to be the best mass produced TF ever made by TT/Hasbro. Truly amazing.

It will sell out faster than any before it, and will be extremely popular and highly sought after.

If you want to display it with other MP's, more power to you. At the end of the day, it is your collection. Your opinion is the only one that matters.

Kronos is hot garbage. Stay away.

You could also choose to be kicked in the nuts instead of having sex with a gorgeous woman, up to you.

Dammit. I'd finally talked myself out of getting the siege version in addition to Phoenix but now I want it again.

Perhaps. But will the quality be the same with Black Mamba/Weijiang?

This looks good to me. Not as ideal as FT-10 but good. Besides, I'm not going to have him next to MP-10 anyway which will also benefit. But it's good to see how Siege Jetfire will scale with bots similar in size to MP-10. Thanks. I can roll with that if I have to. I thought he'd be too small, but he's not.

For me, ideally I would prefer to have FT-10. And I'm still going to try snagging one if one ever becomes available for preorder or in stock somewhere reputable. I don't think any other 3P company is going to make their own attempt at one either at this point. I have no doubt the quality of Siege Jetife will not be on par with other MP figures (official or not). But it does pull off the look at least.

Just popping in to say that aside from scale(which I don't care about), siege skyfire looks surprisingly good.

Siege Jetfire does have waist swivel. So that's something in its favour. And even if there isn't an OS KO of it, I'm sure someone will make addons or fillers and accessories for it.
