Powertrain looks good in all 3 forms well if you treat him as a single shotgun not part of that combo gun, Highjump on the other hand just bot and jeep modes are solid. 

Barricade is growing on me.

As my gateway into TF was the '07 movie, i have a huge fondness for Barricade; I stinks that he seemingly lost a bunch of paint between render and final(?) product, but this isn't the first time something like this has happened. I'm still looking forward to this figure, and the missing paint is a pretty easy fix imo

 

Is just my phone or TC has Joker's mouth?

 

I think we would have gotten even more accurate color schemes without any battle damage at all had Takara been left to do their own thing. Compare Powertrain above. I would want his legs to be a dark grey though and not the same plastic colour as his wheels.

That's subjective, I personally found some of Takara's UW toys to look bland and uninteresting.

 

I will say a few Takara releases of Combiner Wars molds look bland, attempting to like the cartoon isn’t always a good look. But I’m general, most of Takara is better looking than the Hasbro release.

 

Yeah, and not only that, these "Cybertron" modes are becoming less and less worth the bother. Starscream, Ironhide & Shockwave (with all accessories) yeah. Prowl, Sideswipe & Optimus? Ehhhhhh? But Skytread & these micromasters? I'm almost like "why bother?"

Gunna be honest, not a huge fan of any of the micromasters this line, they feel almost rushed? Like if we really wanted to go hard on the triple changer micromaster targetmaster thing, i would have liked a little more effort either way. Either commit and make both modes good, or cut the targetmaster gimmick and and make the robot mode cleaner, cause right now its just a guy being held onto by his torso and pointing his feet at another dude. The center screw holes are also a bit point of frustration for me, it just all feels really low effort. The vehicle modes look great, but otherwise im not interested.

Personally i feel the only micro masters who have looked good were the first pack of decipticon air patrol. All the land vehicles are the main target of my criticism.

 

Couldn’t agree more, all the land based micro masters barring the military patrol have had weapon modes akin to two robots hugging each other.

 

I honestly would've preferred reissues of the original MicroMasters. I have never liked the design of Minicons and these are really just Minicons under different branding.

 

I still love everything but the forearms. Gonna paint those up, hopefully.

 

Ironically, dozens of those molds are still around and easily available, including all of the Six-teams.

 

Why does Barricade look worse, I mean different?

 

Goodness sakes, does it really cost more to use Prowls black forearms for barricade? Who the hell is in charge of color blocking this mold?

 

I wonder if Powertrain has knees? It could just be a sliding joint for transformation or nothing at all
