You can order items sold outside of New York that comply with whatever laws those people are selling from. But you can't turn around and sell those yourself in New York. So you are not in noncompliance at this moment in owning them...you just can't sell them.

That's why BBTS stabs orange plugs on all their Megatrons whereas if you order from Amazon Japan, you're in the clear.

Anyway, yes, anyone wanting a Wally World Megatron reissue will be sorely disappointed. There CAN be a case made for Galvatron, though. All he'd need is a bit of extra orange paint on the top of his head and he would be in compliance in all states. I did a mock-up not long ago and it wasn't TOO bad looking.

This is true, but I mean more that one does run the risk of such items not making it past customs (particularly through JFK) once they arrive from overseas, depending on the seller and if Megs is already in gun mode in the package. I recall some buyers over the years have definitely had theirs confiscated or altered. Thankfully, I was always able to get unmolested MISB ones with no blaze orange caps, which are not supposed to be removed.

Thankfully that should never be an issue with Soundwave, unless 80s cassette players are suddenly used in a wide range of deadly assaults or converted into a projectile weapon. lol.

I still want Hasbro to make Safety Megatron. Heck, I'd even take those colors in an alternate mold. Combiner Wars Leader Megatron in safety colors would be awesome.

We're all in a holding pattern, watching Brickseek, and noting the sage advice that @WishfulThinking has given a number of times recently: Q3 - June - Reset.

In none of those pics do they manage to feature the cassette properly oriented. Amazing.

The "speaker" stickers are also on Soundwave's legs in the last picture, instead of on his weapons. Hasbro had fixed this on the SDCC version, so I guess this is a true US/CAN G1 homage.

I hope they situate the instructions better behind the figure. It looks sloppy (especially for for a promo picture) just having the booklet thrown in crooked behind the figure.

The figure appears to be the same as the TFC10 release (except for the stubby Buzzsaw guns), which is a good thing. Can't wait for this to become available!

Whatsup with Buzzsaws guns? Someone died of tripping and caught the long stack in his back?

Stubby guns on buzzsaw look really bad. I hope they don’t do that to laserbeak as that will make a difference on if I buy the cassettes. Other than that it looks good. Does anyone know if the colored part of body on buzzsaw is plastic or metal like original? Looks plastic here but don’t think you can honestly tell from a picture.

It's metal, you can see a corner of the paint chipped off in the above photos, not to mention every other reissue of the condor cassette mold has been metal parts. As for the shorter "guns" on the condor mold weapons, that has been a thing since the Linkin Park Soundwave.

Thanks for sharing! Looks fantastic. Do you also have a clearer sense of when it will be released?

Stubby Guns are likely here to stay based upon today's toy standards. Sad reality. Not their first instance either. Been stubby for a few releases now. Doesn't detract from the pieces imo. If you open them, could always see if the older pieces fit the holes & hot swap as well.

It's for safety reasons, obviously. That's the thing with a lot of re-issues, is that there may be parts that are omitted or edited due to safety standards.

And yet Prime has the original long smokestacks. Weird.

While the stubbies look goofy when not attached, I don't think they look so bad when attached. It works better than short smokestacks.

Totally, plus, if we're being purists here, it'll never be right because the cassette door hinge is on the outside and the buttons are one panel instead of individual. I'm surprised they opted for the insignia instead of rub sign. That's cool.

Why are the buttons one big block of plastic?
