With Michael Bay’s style of directing basically done for as audiences now want to see a coherent story instead of just flashy CGI, who do you guys think/will take over the next one?
Remember only so many directors can actually direct this type of movie- small directors such as Travis Knight are obviously out of the picture

I say keep Knight. He actually made a good TF movie.

Otherwise I would love to see a Neil Blomkamp take on the series. Maybe Christopher Nolan.

If the Bayflicks had better scripts his movies could have been really great. You hire Bay to deliver great action and eye candy. We got that in abundance, so for that I can't fault him.

A lot of people were down on Pacific Time but I liked the first one, so I wouldn't mind seeing Guillermo del Toro take a stab at it.

If Paramount can pry away John Favreau away from Disney I would like to see what he can do or repeat what he did with IM with the TF franchise.

Realistically, I think Travis Knight is our only good option.

If I can get any director I’d want Quentin Tarantino, JJ Abrams, or Christopher Nolan. They’re well respected men and even if they aren’t fans I’m confident in their ability to tell a good story.

All the action scenes in his movies were good except Last Knight. I prefer Bays style than Travis’s style

They won’t keep Knight imo, he will direct Bumblebee 2 but not the next TF Movie. They’ll probably look for someone who has directed a big budget movie before

Andrew Adamson. He directed some of the Shrek and Narnia films, so he has experience with both live action and animation. Plus, the Shrek films have the zaniness that a Transformers film could benefit from.

Agreed solely because you're the only person who hasn't said the Russos, Abrams, Tarantino, or Nolan over and over.

IMO those four potentially could work but I get a sense a lot of people just go "are they well-known? Yes. Do they make movies where people get killed? Yes. Good fit."

Agreed, I think it's just won people know off hand. I'd like to get the guy who directed Torque, if he's still directing....
Edit: He is, his name's Joseph Kahn.

I’m not going to go with the usual suspects Tarantino, Nolan, or Del Toro, they’re fine directors but tonally totally wrong for Transformers, especially the new direction Bumblebee seems to be taking things.

In an ideal world there’s no reason not to give Knight the reigns, he handled the fight scenes well in Bumblebee, and he’s only going to improve as he does more live action. If they want to go with more established names then Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller, Justin Lin spring to mind. If they could get him I’d love to see James Wan take a crack, just to see how crazy, and colourful he’d go.

Someone who likes Transformers. That's why Bumblebee (whether you thought it was better or worse than the Bay films) felt more like it was made with love.

Tarantino would be cool though he seems to be more interested on creating new stuff.
Matthew Vaughn could as be a great choice
