I just have one question about the end. Everyone turned up in it, even Howard the Duck was packing serious heat. But where was Lady Sif? She just dissapeared after The Dark World. Unless she appeared in Agents of Shield again. I only saw up to the end of series 3 of that, so I know she turned up in 2 episodes, but has it ever been explained where she went? Rewatching Phase 1 and 2 recently, reminded me I liked Sif and want a proper conclusion to her story.
I think her actress has a TV show she's still committed to. If that's still the case, scheduling conflict is the most likely culprit
I'd heard she had a scheduling conflict for Ragnarok, which is why she didn't appear in that, but I was hoping she could have at least had a little cameo in the big battle at the end of Endgame. Or something in universe that explained what happened to her. Still, if the actress is commited to that show, then hopefully that means Sif is still out there somewhere and she can pop up again in the future. Maybe we could get a Valkyrie and Sif movie. Sif comes to New Asgard to see what's happened after all the crazy, and we get a buddy cop type film with those two.
It's maddening because he has done the same with Black Dwarf's (or whatever his new more PC name is now) hand just a few hours before that... What stopped him from doing that while Thanos was dazed by Mantis and held down by everyone else? I think they should not have had Thanos at their mercy for so long, that was not great writing. Just have Mantis read his mind and tell Peter during the battle, then he gets reckless to avenge Gamora and messes up the plan. Just as good.
I may be forgetting something, but... They sent Steve back to 1970 Earth, where they took the tesseract from, right? So....HOW will he return the 3 stones that were on various faraway planets??? I did not see him bring a spaceship with him.
The problem is not that they made up their own rules for time travel, plenty shows did that, like Dr Who, or my favorite movie with this theme, FAQ about Time Travel. The problem is, apart from two quick scenes barely lasting a minute, they do not explain it in detail. Compare Hulk's explanation to how Doc Brown explains how Biff stealing the almanac changed their present and how they cannot go back there unless they stop that event from happening in the past. If they explained properly how their version works, fine... But as it is this movie does a worse job making sense of time travel details than Donnie Darko did.
Seen the film once, do they specify where they are sending him? I assume off-screen they've planned this stuff out and that he is making multiple time jumps. If he returns the time stone in the 70's there are two on Earth for decades so that is my reasoning for multiple jumps. The resources are more accessible than they were earlier in the film thanks to Pym, but that is an assumption. The important stuff is; The quantum time travelling also has space travel. Multiple jumps should be made, explaining some travel. I was getting at him using the Space Stone to travel around too, but maybe he just had a shrunk down ship in his pocket. Maybe the pod Rocket, Thor and Groot take if you need it to be a specific ship that isn't the Benetar. That seems like the simpler between that and "Cap can use an Infinity Stone and happily uses it for free transport" So I kinda considered other stuff as I was writing this, but he got everywhere (except maybe the two 2014 places) just with quantum jumps.
Yeah, Black Dwarf's name wasn't changed to be "PC" (this is the same series with Black Widow and Black Panther, don't be silly), it was changed to Cull Obsidian because it was the exact same movie they introduced actual dwarfs so that would've been unnecessarily confusing to non-hardcore fans. Either way Cull Obsidian sound's a lot cooler and matches up far better with the other Black Order members, while keeping the "black" naming scheme and also being a nod to the Black Order of the comics.
I believe they only took the space ship because they only had a limited amount of Pym particles and also have to go to separate places in the same time frame With enough Pym Particles,Steve should be able to go anywhere he wants threw the Quantum versions
In Age of Ultron Tony tell Bruce what coming from space will be the endgame. When I rewatched AOU two weeks ago I went in my head "OH HE SAID IT"
I see much like Mongul, Thanos also got a sister who is basically just a R63ed version of him. What is her name, Thanette?
Here is where the "you can do anything in the past without affecting the future" thing becomes DUMB. Or rather, dumb not to take advantage of. They snapped Hank Pym back, so they have plenty of particules. I'd simply... -Go back to before infinity war and grab Loki, Heimdall, every Asgardian who died. Their timeline ends soon anyway and they could now live in the future. -Go back 10 minutes, grab Tony. So what if in some alternate timeline that soon won't exist anymore Thanos wins? And it is not a Tony from 10 years ago, he will fit right in. -Same with Black Widow, go back a few hours, tell her this timeline does not matter as it will cease to exist soon once you return the stones.
So apparently there's already a fan-edit floating around. It's labeled "the De-Femenized cut." Felipe Sobreiro on Twitter
