From IDW’s comics, the Mistress of Flame is the high priestess of the Way of Flame, the primary religion of colony world Caminus. I know my limits as a customiser, so I like to keep these mods fairly simple – which means I know she’s not going to be a perfect match for the comic incarnation. Instead, in my head-canon this is the Mistress in full battle mode. As long as there’s a general resemblance to the original comic character, I’m happy.

She is a minor repaint of Combiner Wars Strafe, with her ‘halo of swords’ made from some random Lego parts and a white craft gem glued into a hole in her chest. Her new face is based on Override from Octavian Forge on Shapeways with the chin strap carved off.

The lower half of her ‘Forge Hammer’ is made from Beast Hunters Dreadwing’s staff, while the upper half is the awesome the “hammer of the Primes” made by Octavian Forge on Shapeways. The halves separate to go in and out of her hand, and reconnect using a short 2mm pin. The top section can hold a Prime Master, and Solus Prime would make a great fit as she’s the Prime of Caminus, but I didn’t want to steal her from my Pretender / decoy suit collection, so I modified a spare Enigma of Combination to represent both Solus and the Ore-4 found on Caminus. And what better match for the hammer of a battle-nun than the power of gravity to boost each swing!

We never got to see her alt mode in the comics, but she transforms into a spiked spaceship, with her hammer pegging on top.

You know what, looking at your 3d printing skill, I think you should try and go all out! This is really cool, and I'd love to see you add on to it in the near future!

Great interpretation of the character! I like the Battle Mode explanation too :)  And that is a great hammer!

    Thanks everyone!

I can't claim any credit here - Trentulas was the designer and Shapeways do the printing. I just had to clean, paint and fit them.

Nice work! I quite like how the halo of swords looks! Did that take you a while to get looking good?

Still, you could mod some existing prints to get a really cool look!

It took a long time to find that right parts! I looked through my bits box, through Games Workshop models online, and even at Statue of Liberty halos for dolls! Eventually, combing through the FireStar Toys site (which sells Lego compatible pieces) I found the “bladed head gear” and picked up two. I cut of the helmets and one of the blades off each, then glued them to a flat piece of plastic (made from a RiD Strongarm’s back window!) and added a single sword to form the central spike. Then it was just a case of painting it and glueing it to her backpack.

Cool, needs a bit more paint, but over all very cool. The hammer is dope, I have found comic accurate ones on Shapeways before, I'll find a link to it if you want one.

Thanks - I think I’ve seen the same one. There’s a whole brilliant kit someone made to turn RID Windblade into the Mistress, and that’s certainly a more comic accurate silhouette. But truthfully, I wanted to keep the mods simple and the toy fun and functional - so having her a working combiner limb, with a weapon that’s compatible with Prime Masters and Titan Masters, is more interesting to me than striving for perfect accuracy. It’s like how the CHUG line used to really reimagine characters but retain certain design elements. That’s my goal here.

Since I first saw this character in the Combiner Wars online series I wanted make a figure of her. This is a good iteration especially with the backpack you made.
