I posted a pic of a plane from the same squadron with the exact same style of eagle-head marking, with the pilot's name there. The font is smaller, but it's clearly how they do things at Lakenheath...
It just so happens I was behind one of the trucks on my way home this morning Couldn't get the ones on the side, but I snapped the rear.
Hasbro Paramount and Michael Bay may not know or care, but these military people know the real Starscream model.
If anyone wants a model of this, Witty wings released a diecast model of this exact same plane a couple years ago. Sold out most everywhere by now AFAIK, but likely shows up on eBay. It's item WTW72005-01. Just add a black logo and you're 90% there. (Good luck finding Starscream lettering in the right size and font though).
The tail-numbers on that Witty (now JCW) matches it, but the intake-style is the older style and rather incorrect now. However, HobbyMaster released a recent Lakenheath F-15C with a different tail-numbering, but the style is rather a bit closer to the real thing pictured in the first post... real one: 190508-F-QS178-1034 190508-F-QS178-1016 190508-F-QS178-1038 hm-4560 Maybe HM will now release an actual 001 with the Decepticon-insignia...
Good ol' Kadena (was my first base assignment as a newbie airman). It's always cool to see nose art on military planes, especially if it's unofficial artwork. Plus, I don't think HasTak can really say anything about the use of Transformers symbols here seeing how I don't believe they themselves paid any license fees or royalties to McDonnell Douglas or the United States Air Force for use of the F-15 Eagle as transforming toys. Could be mistaken though.
If anything, I think Hasbro would be honored to see their IPs represented on US Government property. I've thought about painting up some MP-11 molds or facsimiles thereof as USAF aircraft, or, being an Ace Combat fan, the planes of Galm Team (Cipher and Pixy).
Do I have to be The Bad Guy here? While this masterpiece seeker is really nice...it’s not in scale with the rest of the mp line.
