It's nice to have the core bot come out first for a change. If I'm going to have one of these guys on my shelf for a year waiting for the rest of the team to come out, I'd rather it be the largest and most standalone member of the team. Can't wait for Maverick.

 

Plesantly enough, he's designed so the bulk of his weight rests on the heel so that the chrome, when it touches the ground ,isn't damaged. At lest, that's what mine has done.

 

So glad I picked him up while ShowZ still had their first batch. So who's next? Breakdown or Wildrider?​

 

I'm curious to see the sword for the combined mode.

 

It looks like Roadking is among FT's top fan favorites:

-Stomp/Stomp X
-Phoenix/Phoenix X
-Roadking
-Sovereign

I hope FT will do G2 repaints down the line.

 

I came real close to going in on this set. Motormaster is damn impressive. But I have this sinking suspicion that the combiner parts are going to be sold separately. Considering the cost of all the bots + combiner parts it pretty much sunk it for me. They are probably still worth it even with that. Hell you could even argue it cuts down on the cost for people who want a set for bot modes.

I'll just have to admire them from a far I guess.

 

I hope he is referring to the snow white. Correct color is off-white or beige in the cartoon, somewhere in-between would be a good compromise. Rare occasions it was colored white when colorist was lazy.

 

You don't have to buy this set, but please stop this "sinking suspicion" BS. The owner of Fanstoys is here in the board and he has said multiple times that the parts will be included with the limb bots. Now is it possible that later bots will be more expensive? Sure, but that does not mean the parts will be sold separately.

 

I just wish they’d do sovereign in a proper purple

 

I always thought Sovereign would look dope in a Dark Matte Purple.

 

Less gloss but definitely a more grey/blue purple instead of the reddish purple

 

is this common on roadking? anyone not having this issue?

A few fiddly tabs but nothing difficult. He’s surprisingly sturdy. The way the legs collapse and compress is masterful! The way they close and tab securely is fab.

Looks like it's not meant to be fully tabbed in since the those pieces are not straight and taper in. It's more of a psuedo gap filler.

 

Been thinking the same thing: no combi instructions with RK nor the combiner parts. It would be odd that the limbs contain instruction to form the RK -> Menasor-torso for example ... These parts are not mentioned as a set letter (31X) yet but I'm quite sure we will see it.

 

Either that or one of the latter limbs is going to come with a shed (or trailer) load of Menasor parts!

The fact that the price of Spoiler has been set at £70/$100 ish means that at most I’d expect him to come with the gestalt arm piece but not an awful lot more...

 

It would be odd if Dalian hadn't already confirmed it. Fanstoys have said combiner parts come with the limbs. No seperate purchase.

This needs stickying somewhere as it gets brought up every 10 pages or so.
