The beast mode is acceptable considering Blackarachnia's robot mode design, it's impossible and unrealistic to expect to get a flawless spider mode out of it.

Tell me about it. As soon as MP BW was announced I immediately started hoping for a Blackarachnia.

I'm really believing the alt mode will look much better in actual product shots, so I'm very much looking forward to those.
    Plus, I don't drink.;)

This piece looks incredible. All you BW fans should be lining up to buy one, I know nothing about BW and tempted to buy one. Personally, I would rather have Takara spending all the effort and time producing only G1 MPs, so you BW fans rejoice and enjoy your piece, instead of bitching about minor details that will probably be fix before release.

Sorry I do not know the source of this pic as my friend in China just sent me this. I’ll acknowledge source as soon as I find out.

That side-view photo of the Spider is funny, while she has a nice shape the back of It just looks like this.

    images (1).jpeg

It's pretty "OK-ish" , however, i'll wait for official images to judge better, but i'm pretty satisfied so far.

I do agree she looks to have the weakest of the alt modes so far in the line, but let's ser.

Looks like the spider legs have soft ratchets, but just can't hold up that much resin.
Should be fine with the final plastic.

I think the beast modes fine for what it is and for what it’s trying to achieve. Looks like a spider to me ? Idk. I don’t really examine them to much before I crush them . My personal opinion , Takara has these BW’s MP’s number. There really doing a great job of these figures !

Meh, I'm content with the Takara version...

But as much as I hate that TF Prime show the one character that stood out the most, they did the biggest disservice to in that toyline. So a decent "Arachnid" at a reasonable price would be interesting.

A Voyager or even Deluxe class Arachnid with Siege quality would complete my faction of Decepticon Femme fatale's (Animated Arachnia and the Takara remolded Black Arachnia). Or "Fate Weavers" as IDW introduced them as, would broaden the universe in my personal collection.

It almost looks like someone without much Transformer toy experience had a go at transforming her on a time limit and without instructions... That beast mode looks incomplete and definitely like it could easily be tidied up further.

So it looks like the ‘poison gun’ attaches to the back of the butt flap and forms part of the abdomen, and the legs definitely look like should form sides of a much more cohesive abdomen.

The alt mode is fine. The rare times I'll have her in beast mode, she'll probably be on the spider web accessory anyway.

Wouldn’t tight enough friction joints be enough? If they REALLY wanted this figured to not need to sit on its stomach (and I believe they would consider this greatly) they’d figure it out.

They put a ladder in Inferno’s chest. Certainly they can elevate a small-ball-sized spider abdomen on 8 counter-balanced legs.

Truthfully, I was sold on BA from day one, just on the strength of the amazing show-accurate mold in bot mode. I rarely display figures in alt mode, so this somewhat compromised spider form isn't a dealbreaker for me. While I hoped for something a bit more impressive, it is fair to ask "what did we expect" in terms of how such a transformation could be achieved while keeping the bot mode so slim and kibble-free. I thought there might be some intricate panelforming involved (like Bumblebee 2.0 or BW Megatron), although none of the images we've seen up to now gave any hint of where those panels would tuck away. It is what it is. I'm still excited to have her with my other BW MPs.

There actually appear to be small indents in the leg joints to indicate soft ratchets, but the pieces that attach to the arms/body are ball joints.
While I'm not a fan of load-bearing friction joints, if done right they would be fine.

Damn, I was hoping to keep the collection G1 since those were the bots I came up with.  That damn spider may cause me to go at least season 1 for a BW collection too.

For those who dont like the fact that the MP line expanded to BW and BayVerse, BW deserves its place on th MP shelf.  W/O XFormers may have gone the way of Voltron and Thindercats.  We may not have had any MP at all; wouldve still been looking on Ebay and collector shops for the 80s toys.

I prefer G1 as well, as mentioned above.  BW earned its place, though.
