Managed to get my hands on an advanced copy via a friend of mine.

What an EXCELLENT figure!! Vehicle mode looks like it jumped right off the screen with accurate paint apps and super clean decals, right down to the Ecto-1 license plate. Figure holds together just fine and no issues rolling either, Slimmer connects to a peg on the top of the car.

Transformation to robot mode is simple and straight forward, no fears of breakage and nothing that seems out of place.

Robot Mode is simply fantastic, articulation is good for a voyager sized vehicle, only gripes I have are lack of a Waist swivel and zero articulation at the wrist and fingers. There's excellent range and rotation at the shoulders, biceps, and forearms. His legs are well have great range and some great swivel placement.

honestly he's kept in Ecto-1 mode in the display as well

 

He looks great, but I wish I wasn't completely sick of the figure that served as the base. I've tried to get past that with previous significant retools, and I always finds that I'm bored of handing the retool almost immediately.

 

Thanks for posting! I'll have to watch the vid before making my mind up fully about this one. I dig Ghostbusters and that alt mode does look good...but the bot and transformation look more deluxe than voyager to me. And the asking price seems a bit high for that.

Great pics! I’d love to see any pictures of him in alt mode next to some CHUG vehicles to see how he scales. I know the Ecto-1 is based off a larger van, but I’m guessing he’ll look oversized next to a deluxe car? Is he more MP scale in alt mode? Thanks!

 

He doesn't actually transform much like the original figures, he just uses some of their parts.

 

Do the goggles move? It looks like there are painted eyes under there. Just curious to see what he looks like. I would display him goggles up.

 

unfortunately they DO NOT move! I was so disappointed with the fact that they're stationary.. I pointed them out here

 

Anyone happen to know if there is more than one version of this? I've seen advertising on preorders for this with some variance in the wording that had me curious.

 

there are only a handful of factory leaks out, the official comes out end of June/early July. Gamestop and Hasbro Pulse are the only places to get it in the US I believe

He’s a 95% retool. He’s as different to Onslaught and Hot Spot as TR Scourge is to TR Highbrow. I find your complain to be unwarranted. If you were comparing Hot Spot to Onslaught, that would be acceptable. But not Ectron.
