Stripped down an repainted BeePrime, his alt mode is gone but he gained a little extra articulation. Ready for business! Swapped the pegs in his feet for ball joints, adds some more range whilst also taking a lot of stress off the tabs in the legs. For anyone interested If i mounted them closer to the ankle joint it wouldnt affect transformation too much but... ...i wanted to give him a couple of mil extra height. It does look a little awkward here, though. Everything primed and/or sprayed. Its a metallic red thats very thin but very durable after a couple of coats. Looks great to the naked eye, i know it won't look as good in photos. Some obligatory before/afters... As well as new ankles i shaved away some material from behind the eindows, so his shoulders van rotate forwards as well as back so he can two hand his rifle properly. The backpack is now attatched to the back instead of the waist to give a slight ab crunch, too.
He truly needs an upgrade kit to make him taller, and this is proof that he really can benefit from the extra height. Also, Maybe shave the backpack sides off to truly give him a clean silhouette?
Yeah, even from the first reveal it bothered me that the feet were too close to the shins. I may look into your backpack suggestion, its made up of two halves anyway so shaving stuff off may not be necessary.
What kind of glue/rubber cement did you use for the ball joint on him? I need something that durable for a few projects. Firstly to do that with my BBOP. Love the Custom and I am going to be making mine an action master when I have time to do it. Love the work you've done on it! Cheers
Well, the ball joint i used was one of those lego technic half pins/half ball joints, i shaved the peg on primes foot way down so it fits inside the lego peg and then just used gorilla glue.
Admittedly, you can always pick up a second copy of the figure to display as an alt mode. I always thought the biggest flaw of the original Actionmasters is that they lacked enough articulation to be action oriented. This is a perfect example of what could've been.
Thanks a bunch. If I end up switching up his leg articulation I will be doing something like that. Thanks again! Love the custom. I say that I really need to do this because I have a vested interest in making my Prime look at least as good as my Bee. Heavy/Scratch: - Custom SS Bumblebee Movie Bee
Already did I'd throw your post a like but it appears i already did... (edit) or i thought i had... have now.
Apologies for the zombie thread but... gave him new feet built from lego parts today. Never liked the squared off feet of the original and those bionicle parts looked like a great substitute.
Hey, I'm glad you did! I didn't see this the first time around, and I really like what you did here! With my b-day coming up, I may ask to get this version so I can try my hand at mods for it. Awesome job, man! I love the weathering you did on this!
