A teenager dressed as the superhero Spiderman was arrested by the police after he assaulted a man suspected of pedophilia last weekend in Joacaba, Santa Catarina. During a round, the police spotted the individual in the hero's outfit in the square. During the magazine, two pocket knives were found, two retractable tonfas, which is a type of staff. In addition to a racket with blade in one of the flowerbeds of the square. At the police station, "Spider-Man" presented the police with a pendrive with talks with the assaulted by the meeting application Tinder, where he pretended to be a 14-year-old girl. The victim was referred to the Hospital to be medicated, and then presented at the Regional Police Station to provide clarification Link is in Portuguese Fantasiado de 'Homem-Aranha', adolescente agride suspeito de pedofilia em Santa Catarina I must say, Brazil's version of To Catch a Predator sounds pretty hardcore.
I was just thinking about going to Florianopolis this summer. Don't think a dude running around in a Spiderman suit wouldn't have went over so well in the rest of Brazil
I know this will probably be an unpopular opinion, but what the teen was doing wasn’t right either. While the suspected guy isn’t in the clear by ANY means. This teen was taking justice into his own hands, and by the description of his arsenal, could have planned to or very easily to killed someone. And a guy in spandex running around killing suspected criminals is not okay.
that's why he had records of the conversation. he wasn't going off of word of mouth, he had indisputable proof.
Eh, from my understanding Brazilian police have their hands full with drug lords, and stuff like this is rarely prosecuted. Doesn't mean that the kid is in the right, but I think it is a little more gray than if it had happened here.
That doesn’t make assaulting him with knives are clubs okay though. True, but it still isn’t okay. Justice is something that can be subjective depending on the person, and what one person might view as justice(murder), others do not. If we let people take justice into their own hands, your putting the lives of other people, innocent of guilty, into the hands of others who may have wildly different definitions of right and wrong.
Considering that it was a 15 year old kid who did it, I think that we should be relived the kid was smart enough to keep evidence.
he had proof. that the guy was a pedophile. he had literal records of conversations proving that the man he assaulted was intending to have sex with a child. if you don't think that justifies a severe beating then that speaks for itself.
I don’t think purple is defending the pedo, just vigilante justice in general being a bad thing. Think about it this way: If the kid didn't have weapons or the guy knew martial arts, the kid might have been raped or murdered .
yeah, of course if he didn't have weapons or the guy was trained in self defense it would've gone bad. he brought weapons, so that's irrelevant. if the guy knew self defense then the kid might've still had a chance of self defense. besides, if he didn't at least try to stop this guy then a kid would've still gotten hurt, so... like, look, i know vigilante justice isn't exactly something we want, but when it comes to someone having sex with children i think vigilante justice is in proper form.
I am not saying that this isn't funny. I was just pointing out that it's still wrong. I think that my feelings can best be summarized with this meme:
Death wouldn't be good enough for that guy and mad respect for the kid to have to presence of mind to save the evidence. At least in this country, pervs often are given a very light sentence. Meanwhile, their victims walk around with the mental scars for the rest of their lives. That in of itself is its own variety of life sentence. So like I said death wouldn't be good enough.
