I'm liking Dropkick, looks like a retooling of highoctane bumblebee

Except Siege has been all about relative accuracy to G1 in robot modes.

Yeah, I think if Sandstorm got produced, it would be a heavy retool or brand new mold. Hasbro has been really sticking strongly to accurate robot modes.

    It's official.

When Hightower turns into limb part for Devastator, his bot mode will never see the light of day ever again.

Maybe he shares some engineering but I'd say its unlikely he's a retool.

It means he's either not a fan of Hightower's bot mode, or he's going to combine them all as Devy and that'll be what goes on his shelf.

Personally, I was really hoping Hasbro would go with the deep, beautiful blue of the original G1 toy, the Generations Deluxe, and the CW Leader rather than that weak, sickly pale blue.

Oh well. I was going to paint over the ugly "battle damage" anyway as I did with my Starscream, so I guess the world's my oyster!

I like the pale blue. I mean, I dig most shades of blue on Thundercracker, including this one.

I'm wondering if they might use this mold as the starting point for a Camero Bee of some kind. We don't really have a SS-scale ROTF/DOTM/TLK Bee, and you know they're going to want to keep Bee on the shelves.

Sandstorm shouldn’t be Springer with a new head when Springer looks so close to the cartoon model. It was okay in Generations because Springer was a new design and Sandstorm was a heavy retool.

    How quickly we forget Slamdance.

Believe it or not, thrilling 30 sandstorm was designed first, springer was the after thought despite being released first. Sandstorm was designed for hasbro by nick roche in 2010

So we've gotten "pretools" before CW?
    Shocking.
Although, Roche also did LSotW in 2010, so perhaps Springer wasn't an afterthought.

Yep, in fact most of the generations 2010 and onwards figures leaked their own pre/retools in their instruction booklets

Pretools are at least as old as the Alternators/Binaltech line. Silverstreak was designed first, Smokescreen was the afterthought but released first.
