I'm more wondering why it has to be a gay Asian guy again. I feel like almost all movies and TV shows that has an Asian guy on the cast they are usually portrayed as gay. Can't we just have straight Asian guys?
I'm wondering whether they could possibly draw from the recent Marvel comics, which showcased new cosmic-style looks for Zeus and Hercules. I like Zeus's thundercloud look (he may be renamed Zuras in the film). And while I prefer Hercules with his toga, I think the green and gold look above fits him well, as befits a prince. Anyway we just have to wait and see what the film design is like.
The green and gold looks like it could adapt to the screen better. Plus the toga would look stupid in battle.
Hercules was known for wearing togas, and for his broad-chested masculinity. I don't think the toga looks stupid, but I will admit that for the MCU, and for bringing in Hercules as an Eternal, he's going to need much more substantial clothing/armor.
Well, yeah, I realize a lot of his old costumes included togad. I was under the impression that @WEEGEE was referring to the previous pic you posted. I do agree though that Herc will need to where something more substantial in the MCU.
I want Hercules in the MCU, and I am okay with him being gay, but why an Asian actor? Hercules is originally from GREEK mythology. GREEK mythology.
Honestly, considering Herc is supposed to play a big role in this, I was under the impression that the Asian actor might be playing his bud Amadeus Cho. They already hinted at him existing in the MCU with his mother being in Age of Ultron.

That's a cloak not a toga. A toga is 20 feet long and square. I've never once seen Marvel's Hercules in a toga, he's OG look is a skirt with weird boots.

Yeah it's gotta be wrapped around you in a specific way. And 20 feet is only the aristocratic length, more pleb length would be 12 feet. It's why roman statues of a guy wearing one look like he's wrapped in a bed sheet.
