    4x19 - American Dreamer

This Sunday was indeed a Superhero Sunday for me! First, I saw Avengers: Endgame in IMAX, then this new episode of Supergirl!

    The highlights:

    - Dreamer beatin’ down a pair of alien-haters at night!

    - Kara doing overtime at CatCo rummaging through the paperwork involving Lex.

    - Franklin sleeping in his office at CatCo due to martial law.

    - Lockwood and his anti-alien Gestapo wrongfully detaining an alien from his house before his wife and children.

    - Kara elbows a purse snatcher before meeting with Franklin’s sister, an AmerTech employee.

    - Alex and Kelly’s heart-to-heart talk.

    - Kara comes to Lena for help with her expose on Lex, but Lena dismisses her.

    - Dreamer discovers that the alien bar (which is called “Al’s Dive Bar”) has been turned into a refuge site for aliens.

    - Dreamer fights the Children of Liberty squad that arrives to detain the aliens inside.

    - During the raid, George Lockwood runs into his friend Charile, who didn’t confide in George about being an alien because of his father. This adds to George’s trepidation about his father’s policies and views.

    - “American Woman” (Lenny Kravitz) playing in the background as Dreamer finally forces the CoL squad to fall back.

    - George sharing his second thoughts about his father policies to his mother, who wholeheartedly shares Ben’s caustic anti-alien views.

    - James finally gets to the root of the trauma compounded by the Harun-El cure: He was locked in a coffin by tow bullies after his saw his dead father early before his funeral. Kelly realizes this was the reason James missed their father’s funeral as supposed to long believing that James abandoned her when she needed him the most. He awakens floating off the bed after he defeats his trauma with Kelly’s help. Has for those two bullies, I for one would like to see James and/or Kelly find them and tear both of them a new belly button for what they did!

    - Kara goes on live TV with Dreamer to reveal herself to the world in order to inspire hope and fight the oppression caused by Ben Lockwood and his Children of Liberty.

    - An agent in the D.E.O. warning Alex about Ben’s plan to raid CatCo and detain Dreamer.

    - Alex shutting off the power in CatCo to allow Dreamer and Kara to fight Ben and his raiding party.

    - Brainy teaming up with Dreamer to fight the CoL raiding party.

    - Kara making it look like Franklin saved her from a CoL soldier.

    - James coming in at the last second and using his strength to disarm Ben and break his wrist before laying down the law and demanding that Ben and his team leave CatCo.

    - Lena confessing to Kara that she was working with Lex with on her Harun-El trials. God forbid if Kara gave Lena lip for that instead of comforting her, Kara would have turned hypocrite!

    - George throwing a CoL mask across the inside of the old steel mill and texting Charlie if he needs George as a friend.

    - Lena helps Kara with her expose on Lex and uncovers the crucial piece of evidence that leads them both to Kasnia.

    - Ben finds his wife Lydia murdered in their home by the woman who’s husband was forcibly taken from her and his children by Ben. SWEET!

Lydia’s Lockwood’s death is Karma punishing Ben for his abhorrent actions this season! Now he finally knows what Manchester Black felt like when his fiancée Fiona Byrne died in front of him because of Ben! But now I fear that the murder of Lydia will not only bring George back to his father side, but will push Ben to turn the Children of Liberty into a death squad.

As for the alien woman that killed Lydia, I wonder if that was actually Eve using an image inducer to pose as that woman in order to push Ben to take more extreme actions against aliens.

    - J’onn finally returns the scrolls to Mars and with his father’s blessing, returns to his family on Earth.

The trailer for next week looks like James is in his guardian suit again. I wonder if they are eventually going to turn him into this earth's Steel or Val Zod.

This goes to absolute dreck without Cryer/Luthor. With him, it's the best CW show.

4x20 - Will the Real Eve Tessmacher Please Stand Up?

    - Lena and Kara heading out to Kasnia while Kelly and Alex jog together.

    - Alex gets a call from the adoption agency and declares that she will be a mom.

    - Lydia Lockwood's funeral. Like I care!

    - So not only is Ben unraveling, he's misdirecting his grief and rage towards Dreamer and James.

    - At The Fortress of Solitude, Brainy uses a flamethrower and Nia uses the Cosmic Anvil to test James' powers.

    - Haley is in D.C. trying to get Ben's D.E.O. clearance revoked? Sweet!

    - The (automated) jet transporting Lena and Kara is hit by purple lightning? Where did that come from?

    - Kara uses her powers to land the jet in an airfield and gets back into it just in the nick of time pretending to be knocked out.

    - Lena and Kara enter Lex's alien experimentation/torture facility, which has AmerTek equipment.

    - Alex goes over the adoption particulars with Kelly.

    - Ben and the guy he beat up in "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and The America Way?" (4x13) trying to search Lena's lab at the D.E.O., but Brainy, who was eavesdropping, tries to stop them.

    - Kara and Lena discover that aliens imprisoned in the D.E.O. desert facility were brought to Lex's Kasnia facility and then they find that b**** Eve hiding in a closet, scared. She should be!

    - Lena grills Eve with a cattle prod.

    - At a hotel at Portsmouth, Alex talks about the mother of her soon-to-be adopted child with Kelly, who calms Alex down.

    - Kara grills Eve, who follows a trail of claw marks from where Eve was found.

    - George at the D.E.O.? How does he have clearance?

    - So Ben would rather hunt down his wife's killer than comfort his son, who he left alone at a time when he needed him the most?

    - Kelly and Alex bond.

    - Lena and Kara find Harun-El, Kryptonite, and Lex's plans to help Kasnia invade the U.S., then then both find and view footage of one of Red Daughter's training maneuvers.

    - Kelly and Alex bond over potential baby strollers until the birth mother calls Alex and informs her that she changed her mind and is keeping the baby.

    - Back at Lex's Kasina facility:

Red Daughter has her own armor suit?

Kara figures out that when she touched the Harun-El back in "Battles Lost and Won" (3x23), it duplicated her and thus, Red Daughter was born.

Kara believes that Red Daughter still has some part of Supergirl in her.

    Eve is revealed as Kopy.

Kopy activates a self-destruct sequence that causes the Kryptonite to spill from it's case next to Kara. Yet Lena doesn't notice that it affects Kara.

    - Back at the D.E.O., Ben finds raw, undiluted Harun-El and Brainy tries to dissuade Ben from taking it by reminding him of George, then his wife's killer is found and leaves to lead a D.E.O. strike team against her.

    - Kara run in opposite directions at a junction. At the end of the direction that Kara went, she finds Red Daughter's room and not only finds photos (which are actually promo pics from various seasons) posted on the wall, but also the diary with a photo of her and Alex that Red Daughter took in "The House of L" (4x16).

    - Kara panics and convinces Lena to go up the air vent.

    - Kara returns to Red Daughter's room (under the guise that she forgot her tape recorder there) and uses her heat vision to destroy the photos.

    - Ben finds his wife's killer and renditions the alien refugees that were with her. Really wish he hadn't that.

    - Kara finds documents that identify Lex mole in the U.S. Government: Sarah Walker, the President's Chief of Staff.

    - Guardian and Dreamer confront Ben.

    - Lena confronts Eve on her jet and they have a stick fight.

    - Kara (as Supergirl) confronts and fights Kopy.

    - Ben orders the stike team to arrest Guardian and Dreamer, but Brainy convinces them not to by reminding them of their oath to defend the U.S. Constitution.

    - Ben injects himself with the raw Harun-El before Brainy could stop him.

    - Supergirl fights more of Kopy.

    - Dreamer engaging a super-powered Ben.

    - Lena and Eve fight some more.

    - Guardian throws a Pick-Up truck at Ben, who throws it back at Guardian, Brainy, and Dreamer. Then, Ben lays his foot on Guardian's chest.

    - Supergirl escapes from Kopy just before the facility explodes and Lena sees it fearing that Kara perished inside.

    - J'onn arrives and intervenes before Ben kills Guardian.

    - Eve appears to have stabbed Lena, but Kara's recorder blocked it and she knocks Eve out with a sucker punch.

    - J'onn tries to talk Ben down, but he ignores J'onn and throws a few punches at J'onn (which he avoid with is phasing powers) before he throws Ben at a gas tanker.

    - J'onn and the others get the detained aliens to safety, which hopefully includes the one that killed Lydia and Lena finds Kara alive.

    - Kara and Lena head back to the jet and discover that this Eve is another fake. Both depart with the proof they came looking for.

    - Ben rises from the tanker explosion.

    - Kara nearly tells Lena that she is Supergirl, but relents when Lena explains to Kara the pain she has suffered because of betrayals by Lex and Eve.

    - Kelly comforts Alex over losing the baby that she intended to adopt and reveals that she to is a lesbian who was in love with her sergeant.

    - Ben meets with George at the church and George vents at him over turning away from him, calling him a bitter, old man. As for Ben's "Earth First" crusade, George claims that he did it for himself and rightfully blames Ben for Lydia's death. Then George walks away saying that he will never forgive Ben for that and he hates Ben.

    - Ben remains behind with a vial of raw, glowing Harun-El in his hands, then his eyes go black for a second.

    - At CatCo, Kara shows James the evidence she and Lena recovered from Kasnia, they then discuss Red Daughter and why Kara didn't tell Lena that she is Supergirl. Kara declares that she will finally tell Lena that she is Supergirl after Lex is back in prison.

    - Kara arrives at the White House (which now has countermeasures against Supergirl) to hand deliver the evidence of Lex's plans with Kasnia, Red Daughter, and the mole to President Baker.

    - After Kara gives the evidence to Baker he, puts inside his desk and askes Kara if anyone else has seen it before one of his men throws a black hood over her head.

He's decent, better than any recent live action Lex that I can think of. But he brings along a better plot line.

I'll put it this way, Alex's adoption plot was utter shit this ep. Talk about terrible filler.

Wait, she still hasn't adopted anyone? Did the mother from last season not die? I totally expected she would die and then Alex would adopt the daughter.

No. I thought Sam was supposed to be in this season, but she hasn't been in any of it. I don't think she died, but I don't remember what did happen to her. The adoption plot, in my eyes, served two purposes. One it brought Alex and James' sister closer together. It also seemed to be a dig at pro lifers. They make a point in saying the mother( a random person even Alex never met) hid her pregnancy from her family the entire time since she's only 17. Then by the end the family brought a pastor to convince the mother to keep her baby.

Thought the latest ep was decent. Love the ridiculousness of Lena hotwiring the super fancy plane like its a dodge from the 70's. And seriously, how dumb could Kara be to not think POTUS was in on the whole thing?

I found the former point a total waste, but when you mentioned the latter that's bolded....it makes sense for this in this show.

    4x21 - Red Dawn

    HIGHLIGHTS:

    - First scene is young Alex and Kara walking happily on the rocky shores of Midvale in 2007, and it’s a buried memory Alex dreamt about as she was watching TV with Kelly.

    - Kara illegally held captive by some dumb-ass Secret Service agents until she breaks free, then Red Daughter (as Linda Lee) appears and knocks Kara out with a Kryptonite chain necklace!

    - “Red Daughter” title card comes in!

    - Brainy and Alex examine Lena’s ransacked lab at the D.E.O., then Lena arrives and brings them both up to speed about the D.E.O. Desert Facility, Lex, Kasnia, and Red Daughter.

    - Linda Lee angrily converses with a Kryptonite-restrained Kara before Kara manages to gain the upper hand and escape. But not before Linda Lee gets a shot at her.

    - Kara arrival at J’onn’s apartment:

After J’onn treats her bullet wound, Kara vents her frustration over losing the evidence and about all the terrible events that have happened, tells J’onn that Lex knows that she is Supergirl, then realizes that Alex may be in danger because he knows that Kara is Supergirl.

Kara complentates telling Alex that she is Supergirl, but J’onn warns her not to. He explains to Kara that when he wipes someone’s mind, he closes off neural pathways (in other words, memories are buried/suppressed, not erased) and that telling Alex that Kara is Supergirl would drive Alex insane.

However, J’onn says that it’s possible that Alex can find out on her own and regain her memories.

Brainy arrives to inform Kara and J’onn about Alex’s attempts to find Red Daughter, then speeds away against J’onn’s wishes. Brainy then recruits J’onn to find missing aliens.

    - Lena meets with her mother Lillian (who she got out if prison temporarily) at her secret lab at L-Corp. She brings in a baby Truth Seeker from the D.E.O. and allows it to ensnare Lillian’s right arm. In addition, Lena claims that she poisoned Lillian’s lunch and that she would deny her the antidote if Lillian refuses to help her extract the Harun-El from Ben Lockwood and of course, James.

    - Kara infiltrates the D.E.O. disguised as a D.E.O. soldier (of only we got a front view of her in that uniform), so that she could meet up with Alex as Supergirl and tell her that President Baker is working with Lex and that they should work together if they’re going to find Red Daughter.

    - Lena confronts Ben about his possible involvement with Lex and she tells him that the President is working with Lex, which he had no idea of!

    - Turns out, James was close by waiting for Lena in his car. The see Ben speed off in his car and decide to follow him.

    - J’onn and Brainy search the location of the latest Alien Affairs raid. They find a piece of evidence, then Dreamer arrives and gets a vision from it. Which leads them to AmerTech.

    - They arrive at the AmerTech warehouse and Nia suggests a “Wookie Gambit” to get in. J’onn objects and flies away to find a safe place to get them in.

    - Brainy and Dreamer go ahead with the “Wookie Gambit” plan anyway with Brainy posing as Ben bringing in Dreamer as his prisoner. But Brainy is discovered and both are detained as J’onn looks on.

    - Supergirl bathes under some sunlamps as Alex scans to locate Red Daughter. Colonel Haley enters, then suggests they all work together after Supergirl and Alex inform her about the President, Red Daughter, and Kasnia.

    - At the AmerTech, Dreamer and Brainy are separated. Brainy is in a separate room being tortured.

    - J’onn infiltrates the AmerTech facility as Eve and soon discovers that the captive aliens are being sent through a transmatter Portal.

    - After getting hit in the head while being tortured, Brainy starts speaking gibberish before he reboots. After he reboots, he frees himself and fights his torturers. From the reboot (and accessing his ancestral memory), his demeanor has now become malicious.

    - As she helps Supergirl and Alex find Red Daughter, Haley explains to them that she was in D.C. looking deeper into Project Claymore. When Red Daughter’s location is finally pinpointed, Supergirl insists that Alex stays behind for her own safety and heads down there alone.

    - Supergirl arrives and Red Daughter’s apartment in National City and examines it.

    - Brainy explains to J’onn that the aliens power was being drained and converting it to kinetic energy for a version of the Claymore weapon. Brainy deduces that the aliens are sent to a location at the end of the Transmatter Portal where there powers are drained for the weapon.

    - Ben arrives at a safe house where he confronts Otis Graves about Lex Luthor’s involvement in his ambitions. Lena and James arrive and eavesdrop on Ben and Otis’ conversation. From their conversation, Lena deduces Lex’s true intentions, then Ben and Otis fight. James intervenes to stop Ben from killing Otis so that he can lead them to Lex, but James has a panic attack which allows Ben to rip out his Kryptonite heart and he leaves.

    - “Dark” Brainy finds Dreamer locked up in a container. He frees Dreamer, but then restrains her and locks her up again to use her in a plan to get the location where the aliens are being sent to through the transmatter portal.

    - After he meets up with J’onn, Brainy decides to use him in the plan and disables J’onn without killing him.

    - Supergirl goes through Red Daughter’s journal and finds the photo of Mikhail inside.

    - Alex arrives. Just as she vents her frustrations to Supergirl, her mom Eliza calls to inform her that Kara (who’s actually Red Daughter) has arrived at her house in Midvale. Supergirl urges Alex to get Eliza out and she flies off to Midvale.

    - Supergirl arrives at Eliza’s house. She finds her with Red Daughter and the two exchange words before Red Daughter’s own nano suit deploys and they fight.

    - As Alex drives to Eliza’s house, Supergirl and Red Daughter fight some more far away from Eliza’s house.

    - So aside from having the same powers as Supergirl, Red Daughter can fire Harun-El energy and lightning! Which apparently darkens the sky above them.

    - Supergirl and Red Daughter fight again at the site where Supergirl crash-landed. Alex arrives and has she observes their fight, she has flashbacks of her childhood with Kara. Then her memories of Kara as Supergirl, the ones that J’onn wiped from her mind, are restored! Alex mindwipe has finally ended!

    - Alex tries to fight Red Daughter, but she knocks Alex away. Red Daughter flies away after she hears Supergirl’s last heartbeats.

    - As Red Daughter observes from the sky, Alex rushes to Supergirl. But after hearing an explosion, Red Daughter flies away to its source. Eliza arrives as Alex desperately tries to revive Supergirl. Then, her body begins to draw sunlight from the surrounding plants and trees. After she awakens, Supergirl and Alex greet each other.

    - Back at Lena’s lab at L-Corp, Lena and Lillian stabilize James with a Harun-El injection. Lena rewards Lillian the antidote for her efforts.

    - Dreamer and J’onn are sent through the transmatter portal with the other alien captive as “Dark” Brainy observes from above.

    - Haley goes through the Project Claymore documents before an alert is engaged. She calls Alex and informs her that a compact version of Claymore was made for a Lexosuit. Haley tells Alex to turn on the TV and they see an announcement by President Baker showing Lex Luthor (in his Lexosuit) defeating Red Daughter (who Baker wrongly identifies as Supergirl) and thwarting Kasnia’s invasion of the U.S. Making him the false hero that he made himself out to be!

I didn't make the connection that Harun-El caused it to go dark. I took it as bad editing. One of the many Hollywood times where a scene starts during daylight and it becomes night waaaaaaayyyy to quickly. Like there was some talking smack during the fight of "I'll knock you into next week" and she got knocked into night.

Also, BS on her sucking the sunlight out of plants? WTF is that. Hope she takes out Evil Supergirl with her saran-wrap S shield while duplicating herself 20 times to confuse her. Then at the end, kisses Alex and she forgets all over again. :D

To be fair, it has some precedence from "The Dark Knight Returns" where Superman does the same thing after being reduced to almost skin and bones after being point blank in front of a exploding nuke. So maybe not from the usual Superman lore, and as far as I know it hasn't been used again, but it's a good chance one of the comics a lot of the show writers read was at least DKR.

I have to say, I'm going to miss this version of Otis. He was fun, and having him as a Metallo was pretty novel. Too bad we didn't get a similar extension of Mercy.

4x22 - The Quest for Peace (Season Finale)

    MY HIGHLIGHTS

    - 24 Hours Earlier:

After Red Daughter (as Linda Lee) failed to hold Kara captive with Kryptonite, she returns to Lex who sends her to Eliza Danvers' house in Midvale.

    - "Red Daughter" title card!

    - 6 Hours Earlier:

An AmerTek Energy Refinery where Lex and Eve drain alien energy for one of his gauntlets.

Eve shows Lex footage of Ben Lockwood killing Otis Graves at his safehouse.

    Eve kisses Lex? Eww!

    - 1 Hour Earlier:

It's revealed that (Phil) Baker is indeed in league with Lex. On top of that, Lex confesses that he killed Marsdin's running mate and that he was the one who publicly exposed Marsdin as an alien, with help from Mercy and Otis Graves of course.

Kasnian forces proceed to invade the U.S.

How does Kasnia have an aircraft carrier?

As the invasion goes on with Lex in his Lexosuit singlehandedly stopping it, Supergirl fights Red Daughter, who fatally defeats her before an explosion sends her away.

Red Daughter meets Lex on a beach and realizes that he betrayed her before Lex shoots her.

    - Present Day:

Back at Midvale, Supergirl and Alex view the broadcast of Lex singlehandedly defeating the invading Kasnian forces. Supergirl endeavors to stop Lex and show the public who he really is but Alex is hesitant after her fight with Red Daughter and Eliza Danvers fears that people won't listen, but Supergirl believes that with Alex, her sister, by her side, she will succeed.

At the AmerTek Energy Refinery, Lex has Red Daughter restrained in one of the pods.

At the old Lockwood Steel Factory, Ben arrives to take another injection of Harun-El as he turns on the TV and sees President Baker announce that he has pardoned Lex and appoints him as the new Secretary of Alien Affairs.

As soon as Ben takes the injection, a hit team arrives but Ben uses super-speed to dispatch them. Turns out the team is Kopy and Ben asks the original why Lex has been using him for a year.

J'onn and Dreamer arrive at the AmerTek Energy Refinery and are forced to work as manual labor. It's location is revealed: Shelley Island. J'onn reunites with and old friend and he immediately joins him on a plan to break out.

At L-Corp, Alex and Kara arrive and meet with Lena and Brainy. Alex tells Lena that Supergirl is alive and ready to fight and Brainy manages to recover all the evidence that was wiped from CatCo's servers. Brainy reveals to that he, J'onn, and Dreamer discovered that Lex has been transferring aliens that Ben Lockwood detained to an unknown location to siphon their powers. Lena recieves an invitation to The White House from Lex.

Lena arrives, then Lillian arrives to meet Lex in the Oval Office.

    - Lex reveals to Lena and Lillian that he plans to round up aliens and harness their powers to be sold and used like batteries. Aside from that, he intends to send some of the drained aliens to send the new Claymore satellite to Argo to destroy it along with Superman.

    - In a private conversation with Lex outside of The Oval Office, Eve objects to using half of the alien energy harnessed to destroy Argo and Superman.

    - J'onn and Dreamer's diversion works. They disable the power-dampening pylons and Dreamer is able to astral project.

    - Back at Lena's office, Kara works in her article as Alex helps her. The device that Lillian created to extract the Harun-El from Ben and James is ready for use as Dreamer astral project into the office. Unfortunately Kara, Alex, and Brainy can't see it. However, Dreamer is able to write on the window "Shelley Island". Kara, Alex, Brainy, and James head out there.

    - Back at the White House, Lex toasts the impending destruction of Argo and Superman as Kara's article goes viral. Even George Lockwood gets it on his phone.

    - Supergirl, Alex, James, and Brainy arrive at Shelley Island and discover Lex's plan to send a larger Claymore satellite to Argo. As Brainy sets out to hack it's power core and stop it while the rest go to find J'onn and Dreamer, Ben Lockwood and a number of Children of Liberty (who have been injected with Harun-El) arrive.
    - Supergirl fights Ben while Alex and James fight the Children of Liberty.

    - J'onn and Dreamer arrive at the power core, then Brainy arrives. Dreamer fires at Brainy for abandoning them and J'onn decides to use his psychic powers to overload the core after Brainy fails to hack it.

    - Lex sees that the Claymore has failed to fire, suits up in his Lexosuit, and uses built-in transmatter portal tech to head to Shelley Island. Lena knocks Eve out as Lillian pepper-sprays the guards and they both head out.

    - Supergirl finally knocks Ben out. Before Alex is able to extract the Harun-El from Ben, Lex arrives. Supergirl flies away fight Lex as Alex and James deal with Ben.

    - Supergirl brings down Lex. Lex charges his gauntlets with Kryptonite, Supergirl deploys her armor suit (which is now built into her original suit and they fight.

    - Dreamer starts to use her psychic powers to overload the Claymore power core. Brainy realigns himself and encourages both J'onn and Dreamer to overload the core and declares his love to Dreamer as the core begins to shut down.

    - Rock music plays in the background as James fights Ben, Supergirl evades Lex's Kryptonite blasts, and Alex attempts to use the Harun-El extraction device on Ben. Ben manages to use the device on James, but he in turn uses it on Ben and Alex is able to knock him out.

    - As J'onn, Dreamer, and Brainy free the other alien prisoners, including Red Daughter, she hears the fight between Supergirl and Lex and flies to where they are.

    - Lex has the upper hand against Supergirl. Just as Lex fires the fatal shot, Red Daughter flies in the line of fire. Sacrificing herself to save Supergirl. After she dies. Red Daughter is transformed into Harun-El energy and is absorbed by Supergirl. Supergirl gains the upper hand by firing Harun-El heat vision at Lex as he flies away. Just as his Lexosuit fails and he falls, Supergirl catches him. But he prefers to fall to his his death rather than being saved by a Kryptonian. He crashes on the ground, apparently vaporized.

    - However, he used transmatter portal tech to transport him to his secret lab. But Lena is there waiting for him and uses the Harun-El extraction device on Lex. Lena pulls gun on Lex and indeed shoots him, twice!

    - Just before he dies, he reveals video footage that proves that Kara is Supergirl, and that everyone she knows has known about that!

    - Kara and James watch the arrests of President Baker and Ben Lockwood on live TV as Nia walks in.

    - In a live press conference from The White House, Colonel Haley (the interm Secretary of Alien Affairs) announces that Vice President has lifted martial law and reinstated the Alien Amnesty Act. She then relays her gratitude and thanks to Supergirl on behalf of herself and the country.

    - Alex and Kelly walk together and kiss just as Brainy and Nia pass by them holding hands.

    - Kara, Alex, Brainy, Nia, Kelly, and J'onn play a card game at J'onn P.I. office. Alex gets frustrated as Brainy gains the upper hand.

    - Lena arrives with red and white wine.

    - As Kara gets a drink, Alex approaches her about defeating Brainy and telling Lena the truth about herself.

    - George Lockwood goes on Live TV encouraging unity between alien and human as Supergirl observes from above.

    - An old woman meets Eve (in disguise) and reveals that she was working for Lex on behalf of someone or something called "Leviathan"!

    - An unknown figure emerges from a portal. The Monitor arrives to greet the figure. The figure reveals himself as another Martian. Could it be? Ma'alefa'ak! Why would The Monitor free him?

    - Lena is in her office drinking and smashes her glass on a framed picture of her with Kara and Alex.

    - The Monitor arrives at Lex's secret lab and plans on doing something with his corpse.

So ends Season 5 of Supergirl! Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how an "Arrowverse" Season Finale should be done. What awaits the intrepid heroes of Earth-38 before, during, and after Crisis on Infinite Earths in Season 5? Who or what is "Leviathan"? Why did The Monitor free J'onn evil brother, Ma'alefa'ak? Will Lena remain friends with Kara now that she knows that Kara and Supergirl are one and the same? How does (a dead) Lex Luthor factor into The Monitor's plans to avert the incoming crisis (on Infinite Earths)?

DC must have a lot of faith in Brian Michael Bendis to bring Leviathan into other media this early, while it's story is still ongoing in the comics.

The only part I didn't like was Ben still fighting Supergirl after knowing Lex manipulated him. I'm sure it was done so you could have James and Ben both get neutralised of their powers together. It would've made more sense for Ben to attack Lex. It also didn't make sense for Brainy to still be helping once his ancestors programming or however they called it was activated. I half expected them setting him up as the big bad after crisis next season. Other than that it's been a great last few episodes.

So Lex is dead? That's kind of dumb.

I have no idea who Leviathan is, but then, I don't read any comics with the words Bendis on them, so that explains why. Hell, the dude wasted no time destroying Superman the moment he touched it.

Any ep with Lex makes Supergirl watchable. I liked this ep. Only thing I didn't like was Alex's storyline as usual. Just halts any momentum real quick.
