The idea is this

Take any set of autobot characters from g1

Any set of autobot characters peovided that the set of bots revolve aroubd a certain theme

For example skyfire the airialbots powerglide and cosmo and omega supreme and broadside ..would be Air Force themed


Prowl groove streetwise blades clampdown nightbeat they would be police pro edural swat hard boiled detective types

Inferno grapple hotspot and red alert ratchet first aid would be rescue worl type for example

Each differa t storylibe would revolve aroubd a set of bots of a.certain theme

Basicially a differabt group each episode with a single season revolving through all the groups and thr season finale con ecring all the differant plot lines together




What got me thinking on the matter were all the good cop and detective shows ..of the 80s

My personal favorites were
Magnum p i the fall guy the rockford files barney miller miami vice hill street blues 21 jump street all that good stuff for the time

Try to take a little bit of that and infuse it into transformers in a sense

 

I've read something like this before and I liked it then too.
And back then I also commented that it would be cool to for example have an episode where Broadside, Seaspray and Beachcomber for example investigated crimes committed by the Seacons.

I'd be really happy with the A-Team starring the Combaticons.

 

Rhinox and Beachcomber and Botanica growing and smoking la mota! The first likes to eat beans and presumably likes other plants as well, Beachcomber's a hippie, and Botanica is a plant Transformer.

Exploring new varieties, baking new edibles, visiting small scales gardens and large scale industrial operations around the world, and having to deal with authoritarians both Cybertronian and human...dope!

 

Neat! I like the idea! Now if we can only find a way to keep bonaventura away from TF 

In regards to Prowl and the police squad, it would be cool if they had to fight barricade. I was thinking barricade could be a mole but thatd be too obvious  

Also, we should include strongarm and rook since theyre both also police  

In the prowl story arc, it would be cool to see deadlock as a decepticon then develop into drift with the autobots. I guess you could somehow write punch/counterpunch as an intel officer/spy as well.

The finale should be the forming of the protectobots! I always wanted to imagine Prowl as the leader of the protectobots given his biocard and nature!

Man... That dynamic really works with that group. Just need a welding montage before every combination.

 

I really want a full series of a GI Joe/TF crossover. I think it would be good to revitalize both brands and finally get a steady supply of Joe toys again.

My ultimate cartoon series I would love to see that isnt TF related though is a HBO cartoon series on the RPGs Rifts or Shadowrun done in the animation style of the 80's Heavy Metal Cartoon. Have it on HBO so you can make it as brutal as they can.

 

I kinda like the idea... it does sound a little similar to RID2001 though as each episode mostly focused on a group of Autobots… most episodes being Autobot Brothers but then there were the Spy Changer episodes, the Build Team, the Bullet Train team who all had episodes focused on them. It was a pretty good way of dealing with a large cast where it focuses on small groups at a time instead of over loading the audience with the entire cast all at once.

I think one small thing to make it a bit different... Try to make each individual episode seem like they're totally unrelated stories until the season finally when each story connects at the end.

 

All great ideas you got there, hmmm, an A-team style series with autobots sounds very cool and i'm an A-Team fan.

Now imagine if one of the autobots committed himself to an asylum to fake it and asked for "traaash bags" and all? that would be comedy gold.

 

I'd like a series with a new cast of robots in every episode, but with a few familiar faces reoccurring as not to be jarring to the casuals. Maybe Prime and 'Bee are traveling around the galaxy to keep an eye on every corner of the Autobot/Decepticon war from Earth and Nebulos to Junkion and Eukaris.

 

At which point he could encounter


a simple list of characters

there is froid, the psychologist,

rung the patho-psychologist

pharma the chief medical officer,

ratchet the cheif medical officer

first aid, the medic,

ambulon the ward manager,

flatline the medic

fixit the medic (the micromaster from generation 1)

hot spot inferno and grapple who happen to serve in emergency response search and rescue work in thier various ways

and finally the swat team made up of streetwise groove and blades who happen to be surviving members of the original autobot security forces

what do you get when you bring them all together as a group of autobots and reformed decepticons turned nuetrals who each in theiry way happen to be suffering from some serious long term p.t.s.d. related mental trauma as a group of mrntally cracked in the mind experts?

a Mobile Autonomous pSychological Hospital

the basic idea being. that in banding together to help one another to recover from their collective mental trauma they are helping thereselves to heal through helping others to heal as a self help support group over time as well.

in other words they would be the equivalent of a m.a.s.h. unit for the transformers mythos in a post war setting

you had to of grown up in the 80's to remember this show

feel free to toy around with the idea folks

 

I always pictured Prowl as a Columbo type detective. I could probably watch a well written series just revolving around him solving crimes.

Honestly, this would make a great Shattered Glass story.

 

Some sort of Law & Order spinoff.
Optimus as the precinct captain
Prowl as the by the book detective and HotRod as his loose cannon partner
Kup the veteran cop
Arcee and Chromia the patrol unit.
Megatron the reformed bad guy who knows the guy who knows a guy.
Mirage the undercover expert

 

It wouldn't even have to be Shattered Glass - just have Onslaught and the gang desert the Decepticons and go into business as mercenaries. Swindle might break off and do his own thing as an arms dealer, who maintains a relationship with the Combaticons.

 

Yeah, but the A-Team's exploits were primarily heroic. And with Shattered Glass, you could potentially project A-Team personalities on them without anyone complaining.

You'd have OnSlaughtibal, "Howling Mad" Vortex, Mr. Brawl, Faceman Swindle and Blast Off colored black with a red stripe and red Decepticon symbol on the sides.

It pretty much would write itself...

 

That's why I'm saying that you can have them desert the Decepticons. They end up as the unlikely heroes of their story.
