Well MST Trailbreaker looks even beefier than I would expect trailbreaker to be... so I´d say it is a 50/60 chance here.

oh what did they do? I´be only seen pics of either mode but haven´t been following MP sized stuff.

The TL; DR version is that the trailer is mostly hollow and folds into a backpack, which makes the alt mode match MP-10 in size but only a head or so taller than MP-10 in 'bot mode.
(This doesn't address the combiner torso bit, which I think is a pantsformer.)
That doesn't seem to be the route MS is taking on their Menasor, but I digress since we're a little in the weeds from the MS Legends Op.

Magic Square, given their relatively new status in legends, have become my number 1 company at this size.

I still buy IF and DX9 but find that Magic Square just seem to nail it to my satisfaction more.

With that in mind, despite owning DX9 Prime, I'm very excited for this

I've discovered that I really can't have too many small Optimus Primes, so likewise. I really enjoy comparing and contrasting the engineering and design decisions chosen by different companies on the same character.

Roadking is absolutely amazing, but I'd be afraid to see that sort of transformation at legends size. As much as a "turns into the entire truck" Motormaster brings the nostalgia for me more than any "cab only" Motormaster could, I think any legends Motormasters that get made should follow the "MM is cab; trailer is combiner parts" route.

thankies! That is indeed a good option :3

    Well trailer being combiner parts is what IF made to their Onslaught which is quite ok in my books as well;

That makes me a bit more interested in IF's Bruticus. (I already was to some extent.) I've been holding off on legends combiners, though, until I see how big MST's Menasor and/or Devastator end up being. I have a feeling MST will make up a large portion of my legends collection, so if they set a new combiner scale, it'll probably the one I want my combiners at.

i doubt they would set a new combiner scale. right now there are limits of what a legends bot can self contain. hell, i even have doubts they can even make a good combiner. but that's a whole different argument.

give IF bruticus a chance he is simply amazing and now that there is a KO at less than half the cost of the original. i feel that it is an easy choice to make and you wont be disappointed at all.

The crazy 'skirt armor'/crotch situation is the only thing that gives me pause regarding this figure. I don't find the Hands weird, and I love the MST Size/Scale in general. This figure looks to be the modern successor to my THS Convoy that I have been searching for! I'll be snapping this up AS SOON as it gets released! Now if MST will kindly get a RODIMUS PRIME going we will finally be cooking with some Gas!

It's certainly tempting, and I like how they made their Swindle shorter than their Brawl (if I remember the promo pics correctly).

And I guess I've been hijacking this thread a lot. I'm still in for MST's Optimus. I don't think the hips look that bad when it's standing normally, which is what it'll be doing most of the time.

I just think of that scene in Goonies with the broken statue: "if god made us that way we'd all be pissing in our faces"

Yeah, MST wasn't doing themselves any favors by posting so many pics with that sort of pose. The upper body looks good, though it'd be nice if they'd paint the little "lines and triangle" details on OP's forearms.

So what's the deal with the crotch piece? I thought, with the peg right there, the crotch flap could lift upwards to allow from leg bending (into sitting position or front squat), but form these pics, it seems like there is no rotation (or only a very few degrees) and instead you bend the whole hip back and counter with the chest? Did they not give the thigh pieces enough clearance to rotate them forward without doing that?

I see pins on both sides of the front skirt, so I would assume it flips up. I think the poses are *possibly* meant to show the range of motion. I don't know how many times I've seen test shots that are posed wonky.

MST is in love with ab crutch/pelvic thrusts. Have been from the very beginning. It's an anime thing, I think. But anyway, the front and side pieces of the waist both flip out.

In the video the legs raise to about 90 degrees to the front alright, skirt moves just a bit, but enough to help with that. I think MST means to exibit their abb articulation whenever possible as for some reason people praise it a lot on reviews. (I think it is cool and all but not something ever needed on a TF figure).

since the exterior of the black joints don't actually come in contact with anything. it should be fairly easy to paint these.

what a strange decision for MS to make color wise for that upper joint..
