LEGO added the points for my Slave I on after I emailed I think the Hoth Promo is great. The box is really nice too. I'm very happy with it, especially because it was FREE. I've heard some people bitching about it or complaining they have to spend x amount of money. I love shopping with LEGO shop @ home. I got 40 bucks off my Slave I with my points I had saved, still earned double points on what I did pay, got a free print and got the Hoth set. So happy
So I caved and got the tantive V, but I think I am going to turn it into a micro scale night caller from wraith squadron, now I just need to find some good in scale/ micro builds for x wings and tie fighters.
So after May the 4th deals, I have earned $40 worth of VIP points. I have plans to use all of my point for an episode 9 set or 2.
Picked up the AT-AP because it was on sale. Only got about halfway through but I already know I'm going to add more of those big ratchets to up leg articulation. Almost got the Droid Gunship, but even at 20% off it felt overpriced. :/ The minifigures for both sets are just bland as can be, but the walker is at least a really hefty, meaty build so far.
I got another Droid Gunship to build for real. The first set that I picked up I cannibalized for parts for my MOC jet build (almost done with it; I spent waaaaaay too much time and money on it). Also picked up the Sandcrawler. It never seems to get any lower in price on either Lego.com or Amazon but double points help soften the blow. Pretty sure I racked up at least $50 in VIP Points. I also snagged like 5 of those micro scale Battle of Hoth sets with how much I spent. Four I plan to build together as a bigger micro scale Hoth Battle (I plan to color swap parts for the Rebel snowspeeders). The fifth I want to send to a friend as a gift.
Got both of these and a LOT of similar era ships (M:Tron and Blacktron) which I really should build one day.
Received the Tantive IV today. Wow, that was pretty fast. Ordered on Friday and it arrived Tuesday in Japan.
Nice. That garbage truck looks like a fun one. Classic Space Outpost looks awesome too. The Seinfeld one is funny if light on color and I liked the series but not sure if it has enough appeal for a Lego set for a show about nothing. The coal mining one is very interesting in build. It's too bad that Lego generally stays away from military and "violent" themes for their Ideas sets but I guess guys like Brickmania can fill that niche void.
Yes, they were asking people to send in their IDEAS submissions, so I gave it a try and told them about mine.
Agreed, but all the minfigs look instantly recognizable. They did a particularly good job with Dustin.
Dang, they absolutely NAILED the minifigs. Is the Demogorgan's head a new piece? If so thats interesting since LEGO doesn't usually make new pieces for limited run sets. Maye it will also be released by itself or in a smaller set.
Anybody know when they started doing articulated legs for the short legs? Or is this new? *edit: answered my own question with a quick google. Looks like they started with some of the harry potter mini-figs. Cool, either way though.
