Update: seems to have been an iOS Safari issue and showing me a server error page in Chinese. Looked alarming but clearing site data for Cybertron.ca in Safari preferences cleared it up. Sorry for the false alarm!

Hi I think TFW and Cybertron.ca are still sister sites, right? Something is up with Cybertron.ca right now. Was fine 10 min ago but now I just get a page in Asian characters (Chinese maybe?)

Hijacked? Domain stolen? Or a backend error in the wrong language?

Caution to anyone checking it out in case it’s hijacked with some kind of virus injection! I’m on an iPad so probably immune.

Took a look, not happening here. Will keep an eye on it but right now not seeing anything out of place.

Could you screen cap what you see, verify which browser you are using on iPad. Maybe check from a different computer as well?

    Here’s a screenshot:

Browser is Safari for iOS 12.2 (from what I can tell online, Safari version on iPad is same as iOS version).

    Update:

Tried an old non-iPad tablet using its built in browser and it seemed OK on there.

Copied the first line of the page I get in Safari and google translated it. Google detected it as Chinese and translated it to “Your request did not find the corresponding site in the web server”.

Also, in case it matters: Right before the first time I got the Chinese page I got the NX gateway not found error I see from time to time.

    Update 2:

    Google-translated the whole page:

Ok, thanks. Still same situation here, not seeing anything on front or back end of site and server. But, will keep an eye out.

The fact its happening only on one device right now leads me to believe it's the device, until more info presents itself anyway.

I would try flushing your cache and dns settings for the device and browser you are experiencing it on, in case something got saved improperly. Also verify it is happening or not in a private mode tab of Safari if possible.

Thanks Tony - seems to have been an iOS Safari issue and showing me a server error page in Chinese. Looked alarming but clearing site data for Cybertron.ca in Safari preferences cleared it up. Sorry for the false alarm!

Usually testing multiple devices is step 1 but if it had been a hijack I was worried about infecting my PC. Remembering that other old tablet of mine gave me another “safe” device to try it on.

Please feel free to change the thread title to something less alarming :)
