When was that Powertrain design in IDW? I heard his design referenced as an IDW. Before that, I thought he butt fugly for a MotorMaster figure.

My first 3rd party figure was the Bullsfire Air Strike (Swoop) on hyper clearance. I actually liked it fine, but it was my second 3rd party figure, Fans Toys Sovereign, that got me totally hooked onto 3rd party stuff for good.

 

The IDW Stunticons are my favorite representation of the characters, but FT Roadking is just to good to pass!

First Transformer, 3rd party or otherwise, is Fans Toys Roadking. That design is killer. I just started collecting and I'm so excited.

I bought some G1 parts from TransRepro before the owner had a stroke.

Now Chinese 3rd party, that's a good question. I have the first run of FP City Commander, which was really early. I also have one of the really early Arcees. I think it's Delicate Warrior? Box is super small, barely the size of a Machine Robo box. Then there was a company that made an MP-1 trailer that was short and just a trailer (no battle platform).

i want to say it was the city commander armor. it was so long ago i honestly can't remember. i know my first figures were munitioner and explorer though.

does anyone know if the alternator optimus prime add on set came out before or after city commander? if it was before then that's my first 3p purchase.

Cool first 3rd party purchase but what's with the picture?? Is Huffer giving Brawn a lap dance.?? LOL 

 

People ask this from time to time - and to be honest I don't really remember - it may have been a renderform weapon, or TFC's Rollar or igear's Legion Bumblebee, or it might have been The gear of War accessory set of the Classics Autobots. I do remember almost buying a tiny sword for the RID Spy Changer Scourge or some KO Energon Stars though. as well as a lot of KO WST's. The time line is a bit fuzzy.

Me too! Mirage was my first TF as a kid. DX-9 Invisible was my first 3P figure because I was tired of waiting on Takara for an MP scale. Still have it. Still love it.

I don't have any of them left and they are really dated and didn't fit with my priorities. But having an actual functional looking modern combiner was nuts back in the day.

My next few purchases - Assaulter and Steelcore, they're still with me today.

 

FP City Commander upgrade set. I got it for my Classics Ultra Magnus and loved it. I still have it and can't bring myself to part with it. It's outdated now, but is what started me on 3P.
