Topicality I don't like Transformers that don't look like they can transform, but I like this, a lot.

They might transform (in the cartoon), "magically" into mythical beasts, while the toys do it mechanically.

    Could be good!

I don't see anything there that explains why he looks like a girl.
Funny mentioning Krishna, though. (since Krishna is another male deity often depicted very feminine in appearance)

That's just one artist's rendition. Google image search can show other interpretations and artwork about the deity.

If there's new-mold toys released in this line with a technological and mythological visual motif,I might be interested in this.

If it's just a line of repackaged Cyberverse toys,I'll pass.

Dunno if I would call what is clearly a joke on MrNiceguy's part "ignorant commentary."

Unless we're actually going out of our way to be offended now.

First, there was no indication it was a joke. So no, not "clearly" a joke. Second, the use of the word "ignorant" seems to be lost here. It merely means that someone doesn't know, or have knowledge of. To compare a deity traditionally stated as a male off of a artist rendition (be it a fan or otherwise) to a trap is rather ignorant regardless of whether or not someone was "joking." How that would translate to being "offended," I dunno. I could go the same route of thinking and say you were triggered by my post. But then that probably would be inaccurate too.

Except for the context, choice of words, and the way it was written.

Probably because you went and started linking to Wikipedia and basically telling people to go "educate themselves" because a dude made a funny.

I was actually just replying to you directly addressing me with the quote feature.

Would a different link have made you think otherwise? Sorry, but I don't have a plethora of bookmarks at my disposal. And context is not easily detected in text. So no. Nice try. Think what you want. I'm not going to bicker with you over this if that's what you wanted.

Children in traditional Chinese art are drawn as "adorable", and it was not uncommon for handsome boys to be described as "beautiful". Hence, the popularity of Korean boy bands today.

Its basically like how the cherubim in the Abrahamic religions have this artistic depiction as cute little baby angels laying on a bed of clouds, where in the bible they are actually described as these gigantic, bad-ass, all powerful celestial beings, that answer directly to god.

Well... this thread certainly spiraled out of control.

It will be at least interesting to see what sort of direction this show takes. Will it have Autobots and Decepticons? Will it forego the traditional Transformers dynamic and include a cast of heroes and villains that aren't expressly either?

While I agree people should try to get as much information as they can before making any kind of judgment I also don't think it's fair to assume westerners will already know this the way we know the Greek and Roman pantheon, or to a lesser extent the Norse pantheon.

I would like this to work so Nezha can have a place in the TF Mythos and he can be use in more Transformers series in the future.

Except Nezha is specific to a certain real-life pantheon. While it'd be great if the series proves decent, I personally don't see a human deity ever graduating to becoming part of any future Transformers mythos.

Heck, asides from the G1 sidekicks re-appearing in IDW comics, not even the regular human characters make recurring appearances in Transformers media.

As Transformers/kin of Primus, not deities as Humans think of them.

On top of that, I don't see them anywhere else in Transformers mythos. They each showed up for one issue of a comic, and haven't appeared since.
