Sooo, Tantrum is coming next week ? Hooo boy, I was worried since Lepin got raided WJ closed down their facebook page, but it seems like they're just laying low for a while and still continuing their production.

 

I got war eagle and sabertooth today with all the stickers. I ordered from TF-Direct a few weeks ago.

 

Let's hope that's the case.

I ordered the 3 existing Predacons 2 days before all this hubbub started. It would suck to be left with an incomplete Predaking.

 

I received my order of all 3 of the released figures so far a couple days ago. Finally had a chance to properly play with them. I really enjoy them, I had a chance a few months ago to get either the Hasbro Predaking or a cheap near complete UW Devastator (Missing the weapons and Devy's big gun, but included the Perfect Effect upgrade kit: crane boom, mixmaster cab, hands etc.) for cheaper than Predaking would have cost, this was around the time War Eagle was released, obviously went with the Devy and decided to keep an eye on this KO Predaking for a while, having seen all of the changes and improvements so far I bit the bullet and finally ordered.

As for the figures themselves, they are all near perfect in terms of QC, all are complete with no missing/incorrect parts, all stickers accounted for. The only "issues" I came across was War Eagle's head was slightly misassembled and the top of his eagle head had become misaligned and had come apart, simple fix of unscrewing the head and re-adjusting everything correctly. My Sabretooth was a little more loose than I would have liked but a simple tightening of most of the screws was actually enough to fix most of his looseness. In terms of design, the only change I would have if I could, would be for all of these figures to have 5mm compatible hands, I couldn't tell when I ordered them if they were or weren't and was a little disappointing to find out they were not. I think Iron Rhino is my favourite of the 3 so far!

I ordered them on the 21st April from TF-Direct and they came on the 30th, was expecting it to take much longer, I also expected it to be stopped by customs considering I ordered all 3 of the figures, equating to just under £40 but nope, it slipped through  

 

Could you be mor specific? Is there a feud between these two and WJ is losing? Sorry for bothering you, but Google is not helpful this time, it only spits links to online stores at me...

 

Can you take a photo of the sticker sheet so I can send it to TF-Direct.

 

No, it wasn't a feud between Lepin and WJ, Lepin produces KO Lego sets, and recently they got shutdown by Chinese Police. I'm worried TF KOs are next, since Hasbro has been trying to sue them for a long time.
But as usual, after a raid, KO factories are just laying low for a while until things cooled down a bit.

Ok, thanks. It would be great shame if WJ dumped this project (like their KO CW Menasor), I'd be left with two arms, leg and a pair of wings.

It's weird though, unless Lepin was stupid enough to make their version of some licensed sets... Though, I think they made their version of VW camper van set, yes, I think I saw Ben reviewing it at BensKOllectables. That's asking for trouble, especially if they used VW logo...

I think TF KOs are safe as long as factories don't use Autobot/Decepticon insignia or Transformers logo. I doubt Hasbro/Takara files for patents with every toy design in every (or at least most) country in the world because that's costly and time consuming. And without patent protection they can't do much in court.

Thanks for the article. It looks like these are a straight up copy. Transformer stuff is modified, so it's never the exact same. The most simple modification is making a figure OS. WJ is walking a fine line with their Predaking though. They should have done more to make it different. Lego is way way overpriced
