So the latest Trailer says there are "17 titans and counting"

How many are actually going to be in this film? Like i dont pretend to know all the Kaiju's in this franchise but at the beginning of the trailer, there is no way that's Ghidorah, Rodan, or Mothra...

 

The other ones are just original monsters, as Legendary only has the rights to the big four right now. Maybe there might be a Kong cameo though, to tease the upcoming film.

 

I see, it's a shame, i remember 1 of the monsters being a Spikey Armadillo/Ankylosaurus thing.

We open with the same sounds of Godzilla's debut in the 2014 film, the rising chorus and thunderous sound, before blending into Classic Ifukube!! Supposedly there's more of his music on the finished soundtrack but this is obviously the First Encounter scene of Godzilla and Ghidorah. It does have notes that sound relative to the 2014 score, but more tribal chorus and impactful.

So, I saw Endgame this weekend. While that movie really fell flat of what I was expecting, I noticed something. There was no Godzilla trailer before the movies started. In fact, there was not 1 poster of the movie anywhere, not by the main entrance, not by the hallways. 2nd movie in a row that I haven't seen any Godzilla trailers. I feel like Online the hype for this is amazing but in The real world, I personally haven't seen that much on it.

 

I think the notion of Kaiju being nothing more than giant animals is a conclusion that doesn’t give them enough credit, especially in the Godzilla franchise. Godzilla and co. have been more than simply giant beasts with basic intelligence for quite awhile now, and that’s part of the reason why they’re so widely recognized and popular and loved.

Seeing Godzilla and Rodan squabble whilst essentially shit talking one another in Ghidrah was funny and charming, and then seeing the former two alongside Mothra eventually team up to fight the golden space dragon was/is incredibly fun. These guys are and have been legitimate characters and aren’t merely just catalysts to get to the next big fight scene. It’s clear that Dougherty also saw them in this respect, and that’s a great thing. Seeing Ghidorah’s middle literally smirk smugly whilst his brothers do their best intimidating sneer, is the coolest shit ever, and makes it very clear that this creature is more than just a massive animal. Dougherty made it clear that Godzilla and co. are meant to be of godly status, so seeing them convey emotion and possible communication that is deeper than simple instinct is apt and welcome.

I adore Pacific Rim (at least, the first one that is), but the Kaiju there were just roaring and screaming giant animals/aliens, which for me personally, became a bit dull. I like my Kaiju, or in this case, Titans with gobs of distinct personality traits and emotions, and that’s something that Godzilla as a franchise has had honestly since the beginning. I don’t see why that would change now.

 

Not here, I've seen trailers before every movie I've been to since the trailer was online. And viewer reaction in the theatre itself is mainly positive.

 

No Goji trailer for me at Endgame this weekend... but they did have blue poster with his name on it.. My theater's currently under renovations so their display is a bit limited.

 

Over here they showed the first trailer, and there's no shortage of posters.
