Me too. Say what you will about the movie, but it genuinely does tie all 20+ movies together.

My only guess for why they wouldn’t do that is that it would be too risky to steal the gauntlet off of a nearly all powerful Thanos compared to stealing it from SHIELD. They could just knock out Quill again, but that would definitely draw attention to themselves and distract their other selves from fulfilling the plan anyway. If Cap thought his doppelgänger was Loki, then they might have thought they were a last minute projection from the reality stone. The bigger question I have is if Doctor Strange’s portal could cut off the hand of Cull Obsidian, why doesn’t he just do that to Thanos’s gauntlet hand?

If you’re going to steal, do it from the best. Well, maybe not all the Hobbit movies, but still Lord of the Rings is one of the best trilogies ever made.

How did they take it? My girls are about the same age, and it was too much for them. They’ve seen all the more recent MCU movies without batting an eye. On rewatch that movie is much more gritty and brutal than what the MCU has become.

Anyway as to Endgame - I saw it tonight. Honestly, wasn’t impressed. It had some great parts, most particularly
what they did with Cap at the end.
. But to call the big battle reminiscent of bad fanfic is an insult to bad fanfic, I think.

I’m not going to get into too many plot holes but the one that stood out to me was
when they were fighting 2014 Thanos. They almost beat him in IW when he had all those infinity stones and fewer fighters. But he could hold his own with no stones and against the whole crew?

Man, all of those kids just up and got turned into dust? Talk about some horrifying shit. Imagine being their parents/relatives/teachers and surviving them.

Makes Ned's "We're all gonna die!" line harsher in hindsight. Not long after that, those kids saw their classmates crumble before them.

IW Thanos was absolutely holding back. He wasn’t bloodthirsty, he was trying to fulfill his mission, that’s it. 2014 Thanos, seeing all the stones we’re in his grasp with no hard work whatsoever, was angry and sadistic. He moved beyond his plan to eliminate half, to just killing everyone. So yeah, he fought more aggressively with the intent to actually kill for enjoyment, he said so himself.

    This

That’s seems clickbaity at this point. The scene was pretty cool on it’s own, didn’t need more. Authors are grasping at straws.

True, but the rat only starts things off. Strange still can't say how they win b/c
Tony has to make all the right decisions until the very end ...instead of cutting the wire, lie on it.
But I also like the MCU Lang, makes the AM movies different from the others.

While I would like to have seen more of the female heroes too. Again, this film was already over three hours long, and now people want to make it longer? Geesh. That, or take away scenes from the other heroes.

Only thing I don’t agree with is Black Widows motivation.
i took her sacrifice in a bigger picture sense, she wants to bring the world back, not her boys- she just trusts them to finish the job, and she wasn’t willing to let clints kids grow up without a dad if she could help that.

I have a lot of criticism myself for that scene, I feel like the “banter” took away the weight of the emotionality of it, but yeah.

I would have for sure liked to have seen more of the females, I’m glad Wasp was there etc. It is a problem with the MCU I hope they do change moving forward, but this movie, ultimately, was about the original 6, that scene to me was a passing the torch scene in a movie about Tony, Steve, and Thor.

My biggest gripe with the film, actually, was Thor. I love him in it, I just didn’t feel like the fat shaming jokes were great. Thor had me laughing a lot, but it was actually quiet dark to see how far down he’d fell, and made him very human. So whenever one of his friends took the piss out of his weight and the audience laughed I just felt a little uneasy at the whole thing

While I agree that I wish that was her motivation and that is the motivation that I took from the movie, the article seems to imply that the writers have specifically stated that that was not the case.

    Still, I'd take Black Widow
    being fridged for male characters
, as potentially troubling as that is, a thousands times over "You think you're a monster? I'm STERILE!"

Still wish it was Hawkeye that died though. He's had 5 movies to make me care but I still don't.

I think either the writers or the Russos said that they were planning on killing Hawkeye but changed it at the last minute to Widow. Not sure why. I think there is even promo art of Widow in the final battle too, that's how late they changed it.

Dunno, I´don´t agree with the Nebula part. The author is seeing her character from just one movie POV and she had 3 films to make her character grow.

it was because the opened the movie with Hawkeye loosing his family and felt it would be emotionally stunted if he died without getting them back or something

They took it okay. SW has hardened their hearts already. Although the scene where Tony’s bangs the reporter opened up some uncomfortable questions. The funniest of which was my 7 year-old asking if they were married.

Ok so I said I wasn't going to get into plot holes too much, but there's a couple I just can't help but bring up.

How the hell does Hawkeye's wife's phone still have service when nobody has paid the bill for 5 years?

And not a plot hole exactly, but I wonder if the next film(s) will go into the repercussions of having the population cut in half for 5 years, then doubled in a day. Where will all the returned people live, considering it looked like large amounts of housing was abandoned? And more importantly, what will they eat? 5 years is enough time for food production to have been cut to meet the needs of the new population. You can't double that overnight.

They could always make some kind of extended cut version of the film for the DVD/Blu-Ray release. *shrugs*

    Totally agree on Hawkeye.

    When did BW say that?
