Wife: Doesn't share my enjoyment, but I stay within my fun budget and have storage space for them all, so (shrug)
Daughter: Thinks it rules, but in fairness, she is six. Loves when we get Trypticon into city mode and cover him with Titan Masters and BotBots.
Friends: Range from "shrug who cares" to "Come on man I'm far too busy working on this elaborate collectible Lego set to judge"

My girlfriend fully supports it as long as I'm smart with my purchases.

The rest of my family either doesn't know or couldn't care less.

I have a theory that, had I been a middle-aged dad in, like, the 60s instead of now, I would absolutely have been a model train guy, and probably have gotten the same bemused "I guess he likes a kids' thing but whatever" reaction train guys got from adult peers then.

My wife is HELLA COOL! For our anniversary, she bought me Masterpiece Primal & Cheetor as a bundle. Her one big rule of collecting is, if you’re going to buy these toys, you need to display them (or what’s the point?).

She’s watched all of BW, TFP & NuRID & all the movies (including the ‘86 movie) with me & enjoyed them all.

It does help that my collection is small & doesn’t overtake the house, let alone a single room. And since I buy so rarely these days, she’s ok with the expensive MP stuff.

    Check it out:
    Mako Crab’s Collection

My friends & family accept that the geekiness is just part of who I am & have never really criticized.

At first, people looked at me like I had 2 heads. It seemed weird. My wife would make comments.

Now that I am pretty much done with completing and I have 17 detolf cabinets full of TF, people are in awe of the collection. Even people who at first looked at me funny say it is highly impressive.

So for me, no one is really judging. Well, any longer.

Most people in my family don't actually know I collect.

Mom- Has been very supportive of basically anything I've been into since I was little. Literally the only thing she put her foot down and refuse to buy would be the Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad figures. Other then that as long as I'm not spending myself into the poor house she really doesn't mind what I buy or what I'm into.

Older sister- We've been close since we were little so she knows just how much I'm into TF's. She's never judged me for liking TF and throughout the years has bought me several(admittedly a difficult task since I usually end up buying most of those figs before she even realizes it, so duplicates happen, all of which I still have because they were gifts from her).

Dad- Our relationship is strained due to revelations about my parents relationship and things that have transpired throughout their marriage, so I honestly don't give a shit about him or his opinions.

When it comes to my extended family I know my mom's side would be supportive. My uncles all grew up being heavily into comics so nerdy things aren't foreign to them. My "aunt" would only be the one that would judge but then again she despises children and in general is a mega bitch( I wish I was joking but she is).

On my father's side the majority would be judgemental assholes that I can say with 100% certainty. There are a select few that I could count on a single hand that would be genuinely supportive though, either due to them being into nerdy things themselves or just being all around nice people.

Friends uhhhhhhhhh I don't have many admittedly since I'm a rather solitary person, but the ones I do have don't mind. It's usually they don't mind because of their own hobbies or I get the "holy smokes I remember those from when I was a kid" kind of reactions. Although since I usually only have a few dozen figures on display at any time I kind of wonder what they'd say if they knew how many I actually have.

I mean this genuinely you can consider most people here on this site friends most people on here will always be willing to talk not just TF related but other hobbies you might have and even issues in your personal life if you want trust me I've spoke to people on here about bullying issues and they were the most considerate people I've probably ever spoke to and they really helped me get through it .

Um I meant in real life friends......I don't have many of those......seriously why does this always happen. My RA in college sophmore year got all weird with worry because I spent a lot of time alone. It's okay I like being alone, I can either be solitary or social, no suicidal depressive thoughts. Kind of take after my mom in that regard but I just choose not to have many friends. If we're talking TFW2005 I've met a lot of people that are fun to chat with. It's literally why I come here daily versus the other TF boards. I may not say much(just how I am online or IRL) but I do enjoy reading what others say.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm getting all defensive or jumping on you, just wanted to clarify since there's a bit of confusion going on about what I meant.

Thanks. I just try to keep myself busy. If I'm not busy working on doing something around the house I bury myself in my editing project. I'm editing my own personal set of Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory (English Omni dub), making it closer in tone to the Sunbow cartoon and giving it custom Sunbow style opening and ending credits.

My wife supports it. If she ever gives me crap about it, I only have to point at the ceiling height stack of Funkos in the workout room.

My parents think it's dumb investing in so much plastic. My siblings are ok with it. My nieces and nephews think it's cool.

My friends are split between it's cool and don't care.
