I haven't watched any video reviews yet. I like seeing the transformations first hand for myself. But I am curious, does it have the combined mode head in him?

I know he's going to look amazing, but I really like all in 1 combiners. I am almost more of a fan of engeneering than the looks of the bots themselves. I am super excited about Mastermind Creations Bruticus.

It almost looks light gray, making me think it’s a pearl white. Since they’re going for animation style that would make sense, because it was almost a bluish gray in the cartoon, rather than the cream white of the toy. I had assumed it was just a prototype gray, because of the color mismatch around the doors.

That's a new one to me. TFM is definitely Generation Toy, and Generation Toy is almost definitely formerly Warbotron. I'd heard rumors for years that Warbotron was TFC (although I'd never seen any evidence of that). But I don't recall ever hearing that they're DX9. Short of any evidence, I'd doubt that one. They use very different materials and packaging. Usually when one of these 3Ps turns out to be another you'll see more similarities. Kind of like people keep saying that Magic Square is DX9, because the packaging on their figures is nearly identical, and the sculpt on the Matrix that came with Magic Square's Optimus is super similar to the sculpt of the Matrix that came with DX9's Galvatron.

 

I want him in cartoon colors, not white. He is most definitely not a white car.

 

Bit the bullet and decided to order Roadking. I was thinking I'd order him from TFSource, since I buy a lot of my stuff domestically from them. Price was only $10 more than ShowZ and I knew it'd come faster... but I see TFSource jointed BBTS in charging sales tax (at least in PA they do), and that $10 price difference is over $20 after tax. Slow boat from ShowZ it is, then.

 

This sales tax thing is going to hurt a lot of US retailers for sure. If my can of tuna actually arrives, it's 139.99 SHIPPED. And I actually think now that it's NOT a trick, because the Chinese eBay seller has just upped his price 10 bucks.

 

I remember seeing that price from a certain ebayer and he isn't listed under the good sellers or bad sellers list....so most likely a scammer.

I actually like the dark panel. It kinda looks like a shadow affect lol.

 

In lieu of actually painting the arms it's a relief they at least did that to help the barest part of him look a bit more masterpiece.  

 

IT's clear that Fans Toys has some sort of "Menasor Shell" for their Roadking to fit inside, similar to what Zeta Toys did with their Kronos. I'm just not sure how I feel about that. Not even Menasor's head is hidden away anywhere on Roadking. Normally I HATE cheats; especially massive ones like this. At the same time, I'm not offended at all in this case. I don't know why. TW Constructor cheats, but it's only for the thighs/hips mainly. But an ENTIRE torso with Kronos and FT's "Menasor"? For whatever reason I'm okay with it despite it feeling a bit odd to me. I find all this to be really interesting.

And can anyone share any details in terms of FT's making a 2nd trailer?

 

If I was to guess at the difference in your feelings is the level at which the individual modes are made. The idea of all the partsforming is to reduce the burden/sacrifice to the figures to add in the extra combined mode on top of bot and alt mode. Zeta's Aerialbots are better individually than their Combaticons, but they just aren't on the level of a top of the line FT figure. It could well be that the benefits FT has provided on the individuals is high enough that the cost of partsforming is less of a detriment.

As for the 2nd trailer Dalianjj posted a picture of a big rig with 2 trailers with no text. People are making assumptions based on that as far as I can tell.

What I've been hearing is NewAge is DX9 for the packaging reason you mentioned, plus the free use of Dutch on their package images. The thought is that Magic Square might be UT.
