Alternately, you could message Keith and he'd hook you up with a replacement part - he's really good about that sort of thing.

After cooling down from fuming over this little catastrophe I contacted KFC and it appears that they are going to send me a new replacement leg. I just sent them payment for shipping, so fingers crossed. Here are some pics of the damage:

to this day i still freaking hate how KFC engineer this figure in favor for his tank , not the bot mode.
Backpack compromised because of tank mode. 80% weight is there.
    Knee designed like an amateur.
Arm bending is a joke. I mean seriously , why they sculpt it like that ?? You cant articulated it properly because it clash with backpack !
    and so on.
oh my god , i sold it to my friend and now even him is mad with the figure

ah i see, i want this figure so bad as well, but all reviewer make me doubt about this. in the end i bought dx9. QC wise is alright, but design wise this ditka far far better.

No no , stay out of this guy man. He's my biggest regret. Only pick him if you want to just make him stand there doing the basic , outdated pose and never touch again.
It hurts , because this guy is so toon , but I cant help but criticize it to hell. It's really that bad

I never picked this guy up but was tempted by the bbts sale. I'm kind of surprised he sold out there with all the reported grumbles about this figure but I guess everyone has a tipping point.

I wonder if kfc would consider redoing it in toon colors?

Seems like they used to do this and it pissed everyone off, but now that Takara does it, it's ok. I would probably bite on a better colored and pre fixed knee version

With all the re releases and versions 2 of certain figures, I’m hoping kfc does the same with this figure re engineering the issues and re paint him in toon colors.

    seriously if they
    - alter the facesculpt so it doesnt have that KFCesque lip
    - reengineer the whole back to relocate the mass / weight of it
    - fix the elbow bend so the sculpt doesnt affect
    - fix the damn knee so no more floppiness
    - resculp the feet
then i will consider , but pipe dream of course

Wow. That sucks. Basically you are saying that you don't want a KFC Ditka. You realize your list of demands is pretty much an entirely new figure, right?

believe it or not , I had it. Once feel soooooo good to finally have him , but after 1 month having him on shelf , then mess around with him , it's a total disappointment. It's like they dont even try , or they just want to focus on the tank that they make it look so good but the rest modes barely function. That's right , Ditka is a loss and I say if they ever , they need to make it from scratch again. It's that bad. But if people just want a Blitzwing MP that just stand among decep rank then it's fine i guess

King of harsh, but yeah. That is, buy it only because you want a G1 accurate MP Blitzwing to never handle. Buyer beware.

Yes, the thing has a number of issues, which you stated. However, the replacement parts for knees and ankles do a decent enough job for those who want to put Ditka on a shelf and admire him along with putting him in some poses once in a while. He's not an action-pose rock star, but he's not the nightmare you're making him out to be either. C- for posing score.

Articulation overall id also decent. Shoulders are limited, but that's because they couldn't figure out how to both stay true to the original design/look and give him great articulation there. This is a bummer, but how often does anyone pose their bots with their arms over their heads? C+

Balance is an issue. Yes. That backpack is big and he's top-heavy. If they did not use die-cast in that area, it would have benefitted a great deal. KFC was trying to be true to the design, so he's again accurate in the look. It isn't KFC's fault entirely since the look of Blitzwing has always had him back heavy. He gets a C here.

Sculpting is very nice. He looks dead on like Blitzwing should. A+ *Corrected. Originally gave B+*

The ONLY other option is DX9's Gewalt, which is not G1 accurate in any of his modes. Gewalt surpasses Ditka in articulation, balance, engineering, and perhaps transformation. A better option if you don't care about being G1 design accurate.

Other than that, there is nothing else. No one knows if Fans Toys will ever produce their Berserk? No sign of anyone else tackling an MP style Bltizwing either. Not even Takara. Ditka does suck in a lot of ways. He's essentially a bot you don't want to touch. And if you can live with that, great. If not, Gewalt is the only other option.

Dead on is a B+? Damn, you're harsh with your grading. What would it take to get an A? It'd have to be more Blitzwing than Blitzwing?

I really don't understand the bad rap this figure gets. Balance sucks and you have to swap out a few parts that are included when you buy him but otherwise he's great, and we've known the fix for the balance forever. His bot mode and tank mode look pretty darn near perfect and his plane mode, while goofy, is accurate to the source... well it's got those zipper wings.

His articulation is limited in the shoulders as a product of the character's design. As much as I like good articulation, in this case I prefer the more accurate design. His neck articulation is limited which does kind of suck - has a hard time turning his head without popping out the transformation joint on his chest. And his fingers are just plain awesome - they look great in a relaxed pose and I'd say they look better gripping his weapons than the hands of any of my other figures.

As for him being one that you don't take off the shelf, why? His transformation is relatively easy and intuitive and I find him to be one of the more fun 3p figures to transform. I haven't noticed any parts weakening from handling nor have I had any paint chipping. He's one my go-to's for a fun transformer to mess with.

Seriously, I don't get the hate for this guy at all. He's the number one reason I'm a fan of KFC and I'd easily rank him above any of my FT figures, though I only have three: Willis, Koot, and Rouge... oh wait, I have Sovereign. Ok I'd put Sovereign above this guy but he still beats the rest of my FT figures.

This guy is not without his problems but he looks so good. I recommend him and I don’t really like kfc. A lot of their recent stuff is good though

    My bad. A+

I don't think this is a "bad" figure. It's not great either. It's...fine. If my copy's foot didn't break, he would've stood without issue. I think Ditka got an unfair and unjust debut. It's an example as to why I HATE early test shot reviews because he was condemned before he ever got a wide release. Even GREAT figures like Generation Toy RE Tyrant (IDW Bomber Megatron) got an unfair rep all because early reviews of him were improperly transformed and therefore given criticism of an issue that never even existed. And that sucks.

Maybe I am too harsh on Ditka? I probably am. It's because I'm still upset that I have an amputee sitting on my kitchen counter. I DO like him. And I have no regrets buying him. I do regret he's broken. You can bet my outlook of him would be brighter if that stupid screw didn't snap, taking out the plastic part with it.

Is he a great figure? If you think so, I am VERY happy for you! Seriously. I am. I think he is decent at worst, good at best after the installation of the new parts. If I gave the impression that I "hate" this figure, I am SORRY. That was not my intent. If KFC goes back to this guy and beefs up the hip, knee, and ankle joints even more, uses plastic instead of die-cast on the parts that go on his back, and give him better fingers, Ditka would be A+++ Amazing.

I also have to say that I am impressed how FAST KFC respond to my emails and communication was excellent. Far surpassed anything I got from Fans Toys. I had the same fast and great experience a year ago or so when I needed a part for their Wreck Gar.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get after you for your opinion. I was surprised at the B+ after saying he was dead on but the rest of my post was more in general response to all the negative comments, not your post in particular.

Seems to pose well enough. Admittedly the balancing on one foot pose was really hard to pull off and I definitely wouldn't leave him on the shelf like that.
