Though, to be fair, Big Lots here in the states sold under and over sized KOs of Bandai candy toys of SPD and Magiranger/Mystic Force as well as BW Megatron (BMII dragon) along with a few others. The KO combiners ended up in Easter baskets sold at Walmart and Kmart for years. I shouldn't be surprised, really.

PLUS...none of these are Hasbro products or designs. Yes, it's clear they're Dinobots, but Hasbro hasn't made these so... Gray area, I guess?

Man, I'd love to just walk into a store and pick these up right off the shelf. No mail order, no preorder, just walk into Walmart and grab one off the shelf. Dang. Is this the first time that Mech Fans Toys sold their stuff in the western world in this manner?? (By that, I mean selling through ASDA. Not these specific ones.)

 

Not yet - like the post says (green text) they were made specficially for the UK (i.e. ASDA) this is the conclusion of a deal that has been brewing since last June. So Long as ASDA has not been bought out by Sainsbury's by then I suppose a Walmart distribution isn't impossible as they are still technically related companies.

Me neither, keeping up with all these companies and what they say they are doing and what they actually give us is like a full time job. Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing.

 

They were supposed to be making an Orion Pax as well - no Idea what happend to that. Perhaps it will show up randomly later.
There is also the Mindwipe and Hardhead further down the road - and the shockwave repaint has been shown in finished colours so hopefully that will show up before to long.

The Supermarket releases were of the Iron Factory upscale Ultra Magnus, the DX9 Upscaled Megatron & a Diaclone Mech with a bonus mech in blue and red. There was also a Starscream that looked like it might be a repack of the upscaled Iron Factory starscream that already came out once. which suggest that was another Front company then. I asked HZJ about the Diaclone set - but they have not got it in yet.

In my case I don´t understand why anyone would prefer the bland grey/yellow instead of cool metalicx besides ton nostalgia... well I guess I don´t get toon nostalgia but maybe I always pictured them metalic when Iwatched G1.

Same for anything white on prime - to me it is all silver and I don´t get why companies do it white instead...
